Lady's an Gentlemen it is time to rejoice!!!! 🎉🥳 A direct replacement is not on the market!!! Part number CP1879, my local Jeep mechanic completed a repair just last week and informed me they're exact fit!! WOOHOO!!!
I guess you meant to write the word "now"?
please tell us more
how many did they replace?
how much did it cost?
& just to clarify you're talking about the bearing / bushing, not the entire knuckle?

Just completed the rapair for a friend this past weekend. Took 5 hours in total to remove both knuckles and replace all 6 bushings. One bushing is easy to replace, other 2 are super tricky but I've devised the good way on doing it in my 20 ton press

Bushings came from Europe, where they're readily available and you can see they're actually OE

Would anyone here be interested in purchase? I am looking to have my cousin send bunch of kits.

TIA

I am thinking about offering two services:

1. Sell bushings + instructions on removal/reinstall. As mentioned replacement is very tricky and 20 ton press is required as these things are TIGHT

2. Send knuckles to me and I'll perform replacement. Knuckles aren't heavy and wouldn't take up much room if backing shield is removed.

Hi @Croat, did you freeze them down and if so, were they easier to insert?

ps: I guess also if we replace our bushings, it's the time to consider to replace the wheel bearing since it's easily accessible with the knuckle off - especially if the bearings are worn or starting to whine etc.

I didn't bother freezing, but it would probably help.

The major issue is position of two bushings, which are directly across from each other so it took me a while to figure out position in the press. Removal of those is also tricky.

LOL OOPS 😅

YES! "Now** on the market"

All 3 come in a pack costing $94 CAD
Took 1.5hrs each side, my guy is going to charge $150\each side plus cost of parts.

I know what I'll be getting done next pay day.

I am in New Brunswick, Canada and around 6 hour drive from Boston
just circling back ...

if you're interested in doing my 2 rear knuckle bushings:
  • please let me know (via PM) how much you'd like for the whole job, parts & labor, don't cheat yourself
  • please suggest a cheap motel nearby for a nite or two (I can find one on my own, just thinking out loud)
  • if you don't do wheel alignments, please suggest a nearby shop for an alignment, before I drive home

if you have second thoughts, no worries at all! Wifey will be grateful ;-) no PM necessary

Well, on a brighter note, looks like you guys are going to be pretty close to 60° today, and that will be nice. Much better cycling weather...I'd take 45° around here and be tickled pink...😉😎

Direct replacement is Moog k202090 no need to rework the spindle.
Good find ! Now just curious (haven't been in there myself, yet) : aren't there 3 bushings on that rear knuckle ? 2 identical and a third one ? Maybe only one is critical (the Moog one), I don't know... The Transbec kit contains 3 bushings (linked to above).

I've tried googling that part number, nothing comes up. How do I go about ordering those? Through a dealer? Both rear knuckles are out on my 2014 trailhawk. My mechanic wants to replace bushings, rather than see me spend a god awful amount to replace both knuckles. Thanks!
