I know all the lights have come on for me a few times in the past, but it has never affected the drivability o the car, and like others have reported, once you turn the car off, it goes away. So unless it actually does affect something, I'm not concerned about it.

Tsb 08-054-18 rev. A

September 11, 2018 all of the shifter lights came on.

Dealer checked and traced the issue to PRNDL bezel kit shifter and wiring shifter harness, have fault code P1C86.

Ordered Bezel kit PN 5YD27XSA-AA which is on back order. Price $179.99.
Originally the PN was 5YD311UC-AA and several others.
Seem to be having a hard time getting one to work correctly.

Ordered wiring harness PN 68413957-AA. Price $32.99.

When the dealer gets the parts I will get it fixed, hopefully under Warranty since I have had this problem for several years.
Apparently this is a known issue. There is no TSB or STAR Case, unless someone knows otherwise.

Has anyone had this repair done and does it work?
Does anyone have pictures of the parts?
My Service Adviser found the TSB. The wiring harness is still on back order.
There are sketches of the parts in the TSB.
So far the fault has not occurred again on my 2014 TH.

No problems since 9/11/2018.
Dealer received the wiring harness and bezel kit. Installed today.
Mileage on my Trailhawk is 75534 miles.
I am out of warranty and they installed the parts for free.
This was an easy repair.
Dealer kept the old parts.
The TSB is 08-054-18 Rev A, basically they just put dielectric grease on the connector to prevent corrosion.

Lucky me, I just had this happen today. I'll let the dealer know and see if it comes back.. Uggh, and I was there on Thursday having the sunroof glass replaced (long story) and it whistles like air is leaking all around it now. Guess I'm going back.

Will do Alex! The dealership has honestly been fantastic to date. They're checking out the sunroof today and the "service shifter" message. Here's hoping :)

The shifter error has happened to me twice. I just shut the car off and restart. I am going to the dealer tomorrow for my battery, so I will ask them about it.

I had this issue since I got the car, 2016 TH, I got the whole shifter assembly replaced in 2017 and it came back a couple weeks later. I returned it and I got rid of my 2nd car, the local dealers in my area do not provide loaners so I just kept using it since it didn’t effect my driving, now I am out of the bumper to bumper warranty and need to get it fixed, the light comes on the second I use the shifter and the service shiter light message is really annoying. Will this TSB cover the repair? Dealers in my area suck!

The TSB won't "cover" the repair it just tells how to do it.
You might want to pull the electrical connector(s), check for corrosion or pushed pins,
put some dielectric grease on the contacts and see if it works.
I don't think replacing the bezel and harness is difficult so you could do it yourself once you get the latest parts.
See Post #62 above.
My dealer replaced it even when out of Warranty because I have had the problem for years and several shifters that didn't work.

I have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee that has been randomly doing the same thing. All indicator lights will be lit while I'm driving down the road. If I stop, I can turn the engine off and back on and they seem to go away. For a little while... I also just took it in for service today for some other issues and mentioned it kind of shifts hard when I put the transmission in gear and sometimes all the indicator lights will be lit at once. They suggested it was the shifter bezel. I had never heard of a bezel before but with parts and labor they want $235.00. Just quickly looking online and a few youtube videos I can find the part for less than $100.00 and it looks pretty simple to replace on my own.

I’ve had this happen several times with mine. I did notice that when it happens the turn signals on my side mirrors don’t work. Told the dealer last week when I was getting a new oil pressure sensor and they said to stop in when it happens again

hello! I know your post is 1 year+ old but I’m having the same issue with my 16 Jeep Cherokee. I am out of the 30,000 mile warranty but still in the 60,000 mile warranty. Dealer wants to charge $372 to replace bezel and wiring. What did you do/who did you contact to have it replaced for free? Thank you! I would appreciate any advice on moving forward.

My dealer replaced the entire shift console twice while I was under Warranty which did not solve the problem.
So even though I was out of Warranty when FCA finally figured out the solution was to replace the bezel and wiring harness they did it for free.
I think they replaced it for free because it was a pre existing complaint.
Since you did not have the problem while under Warranty they are probably not going to do you any favors.
You could send a Private Message to Jeep Cares and maybe they can influence your dealer.
Somebody on this site bought the parts and did the work themselves, it isn't that difficult.

It's happened two or three times before but doesn't seem to have any effect on gear selection or shifting and probably not related to the TCM flash that was done yesterday. Ready to back out of the garage this morning, selected reverse and all of the gear indicator lights lit up. Backed out to the street, selected drive and all of the lights except park stayed on. Decided to go by the dealer and let them take a look and on the way the park indicator light also came on. Tech had me pull into a service bay. Put selector in park and the lights stayed on. Tech plugged her magic box into the Jeep's computer plug in and checked her laptop. Code came up indicating something like "shift circuit voltage out of range" (I don't remember the exact wording). Consensus was that a wire might be getting pinched or moved causing a short. Taking car in to service this afternoon and they will probably keep it overnight. When I left the lights went out except for the gear I had selected.

Anyone else have an attractive young lady for a tech? She knows her stuff too.
Was it coming up on dash Service Shirter? I get that all the time when hot outside except winter...

It has returned. After the dealer cleared the code I drove for quite awhile with no problem. Lately however, it is happening more and more frequently. All of the gear selector lights by the shift lever will light up at random times. Shutting the engine off and restarting will return the lights to normal. I just spotted the same problem posted on another Jeep forum. I haven't taken it back to the dealer yet but if the problem clears itself when the engine is shut down and restarted I wouldn't think a shorting wire would be the problem. Doesn't seem to have any effect on the transmission shifting or any other issue that I can detect. Anybody else observing this in their Jeep?
Yes, car is in for that now but they said they had to recreate it. I even had a picture of one of the half dozen times it has happened. If they can't duplicate, they said I would have to pay $250 for diagnostic. Why? I have proof.
