Gear Indicator LIghts All Lit

It's happened two or three times before but doesn't seem to have any effect on gear selection or shifting and probably not related to the TCM flash that was done yesterday. Ready to back out of the garage this morning, selected reverse and all of the gear indicator lights lit up. Backed out to the street, selected drive and all of the lights except park stayed on. Decided to go by the dealer and let them take a look and on the way the park indicator light also came on. Tech had me pull into a service bay. Put selector in park and the lights stayed on. Tech plugged her magic box into the Jeep's computer plug in and checked her laptop. Code came up indicating something like "shift circuit voltage out of range" (I don't remember the exact wording). Consensus was that a wire might be getting pinched or moved causing a short. Taking car in to service this afternoon and they will probably keep it overnight. When I left the lights went out except for the gear I had selected.

Anyone else have an attractive young lady for a tech? She knows her stuff too.

Had the Jeep in the shop for an hour or so this afternoon. Found active code in ESM P1C86-1d PRNDL display circuit current out of range. They did a diagnostics for wire corrosion or breakage and cleared the code. Couldn't get it to happen again so released the car to me. If it happens again they will have to do some surgery and pull the console apart to physically check for problems.

It has returned. After the dealer cleared the code I drove for quite awhile with no problem. Lately however, it is happening more and more frequently. All of the gear selector lights by the shift lever will light up at random times. Shutting the engine off and restarting will return the lights to normal. I just spotted the same problem posted on another Jeep forum. I haven't taken it back to the dealer yet but if the problem clears itself when the engine is shut down and restarted I wouldn't think a shorting wire would be the problem. Doesn't seem to have any effect on the transmission shifting or any other issue that I can detect.

Anybody else observing this in their Jeep?

All of the indicator lights except the Park light are now lighted constantly every time I start the engine. The gear indicator in the EVIC shows the appropriate gear but looking down at the gear select lever shows I'm in all gears at once (except park). I have an appointment to take the Jeep in for service Tuesday morning but I'm a bit nervous about driving now fearing the transmission is going to explode or something.

Had the same problem occur twice yesterday on my 2014 TH-Limited. Happened after both times when I applied the parking brake which I usually do not do. Might be something related with that system. Here is a guess - maybe it happens if releasing parking brake after shifting out of park ?? - or not waiting long enough before shifting and the break-release-cycle was not cleared ??

mine has done this periodically since new. once it starts doing it it will do it for days. then fine for awhile. finally figured out that it has to do with electronic parking brake. if lights come on and i used parking brake problem gone. now i used brake about once a week and it never came back. problem solved. why i do not know.

interestingly mine stopped doing it when i started using the parking brake every few days. yesterday i rotated the tires and first drive on come the red lights. lifting and romoving wheels may have moved and did something with parking brake cables? or coincidence? seems like it would be a big coincidence.

Third time is a charm. All 5 shifter lights came on at my Jeep dealer.
Checked and got code P1C86-1D-PRNDL DISPLAY-CIRCUIT CURRENT OUT OF RANGE.
Turned the engine OFF, opened the drivers door, restarted engine and lights worked ok.
Electrical and mechanical connections are ok.
Dealer called Enhanced Jeep Satisfaction and opened a "case".
Dealer ordered the part they need to be replaced under Warranty.
I think it is SHIFTER-TRANSMISSION - MOPAR (1UT662X9AG)
This supersedes ..AD, ..AE & ..AF so they must be having difficulty getting a good fix.
Tomorrow the part should arrive and I will get my Jeep fixed.
Friday Enhanced Jeep Satisfaction rep will call me to get repair status.
My Jeep has been working just fine so whether the shifter lights work or not is not a big deal.
Let me know if you have had this experience.
