Try a soft reset and if necessary a hard reset. Maybe all will be well?
Check the electrical connections to the radio.
So far on my 2014 my Uconnect has been ok.
Are all of your Uconnect updates done?

 

The screen is starting to delaminate and I would love to have carplay

 

I highly recommend Crutchfield. They have all the right recommended parts, install guides, and replacement face plates if this is something you’re interested in doing

 

I have looked there and I have no problem installing a radio it is just finding one that allows for some factory options

My current head unit in my 14 trailhawk lost all touch control and wanting to replace it with an aftermarket radio. I have found a few on amazon that is aftermarket but I have the factory amp and sub with heated seats and would love to retain that feature. I was wondering if anyone had upgraded to carplay with an aftermarket radio. Here are a few I found online

In all honesty, I would not select any of those units. They'll have some issue ranging from incomplete software functions, "laggyness" (underpowered-processor) or poor user interfaces (and probably other issues are well). Check their reviews. Most will have no to low number of reviews. Do some searching through this forum. There's a few posts that note people's experiences with various Amazon or AliExpresss android no-name 3rd party heads and most of the reports are the same.

• The exception is the TEYES CC3 (I went with one, here's a review: https://www.jeepcherokeeclub.com/threads/teyes-cc3-2k-android-head-unit-review.249129/post-3017542 ) It keeps the heated seats and will work with the Cherokee "Alpine" 9-speaker "premium" audio package with the subwoofer.
