I have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and i'm having issues updating the Uconnect and navigation systems. I live in Ohio but the GPS shows me in Texas. Have tried the reboots with no success.. When I go to Uconnect and try to do an update and I enter my VIN it just goes back to a blank screen. Like it doesn't recognize it. Anyone else having the same issue ?

The compass seems to work ok. But the nav has me in Texas. I’ve went to Uconnect and it gives me no updates for my vin. I called Uconnect and they said some Jeeps were left off of the updates and that they are working on a resolution. I’m finding that hard to believe since this is a 2014 and we are in 2023. What is the issue?

The only thing driveuconnect.com says about your VIN is the latest version applicable to your Jeep.
Go to apps on your Uconnect screen to find out what version is currently installed.
Then you will need to update your Uconnect system in a certain precise order.
Hopefully you have updated your Uconnect as new updates were made available.
There was an over the air update a long time ago, that will no longer work ( I think) because 3G is gone.
I don't have Nav on my 2014 TH. I am totally up to date. Uconnect works fine. Haven't had any updates in years.
Your easiest solution is to buy a real GPS receiver and forget Uconnect Nav.
Hopefully your Uconnect works for non navigation.

only time mine thought I was somewhere other than where I was, it though I was in the middle of the ocean. not long after I threw it in the ocean & replaced it w/ aftermarket. still have fond memories driving in circles in a big parking lot, to recalibrate it, while on vacation. not the way I wanted to spend my free time

covering the radio with cardboard, painted black, then mounted a plastic disk for the suction cup mount on the tom-tom gps, was pretty annoying. forget how long I lived with that. ironically, I'm on my 2nd Cherokee & the old Tom-tom is back in service cuz my "sport" doesn't have builtin nav. thankfully the radio in my sport works as does the bluetooth, so no soundbar is required hahaha

excerpt from an old post elsewhere:

it's a temporary accommodation until I get the new radio/gps installed

the sound bar is on the passenger seat

whenever the radio actually starts working I just ignore it because it doesn't last long
