They are the Rage Powersports 50" Carbon Steel Roof Crossbars which can be found on eBay and also Amazon. A lot cheaper than most of the other roof bars, but I have been very pleased with them for the price. I was able to get mine off eBay for less than $60 including shipping.

 

What type of grill/ front bumper guard is that? I love all of it!

That looks really good. I was sold on the Yakima but after looking at your pics I'm having second thoughts especially since the Rola is at least 100 bucks cheaper. Can anyone speak to the quality difference of the Rola and Yakima?

 

I have not seen the Yakima up close, but I also have the Rola and can say it's built well and the finish is good. I really don't see how the Yakima could be that much better unless it was made of aluminum or something.

And the Rola is lower profile and IMO, looks better on the Cherokee.

 

The Rola has a lower profile than the Yakima, but the Yakima does have an extension you can add to make it longer, FWIW.

 

Rola sells an 18" extension for their basket as well. (PS- Walmart has the Rola for $129 and free pickup).

 

I'd doubt either would be a bad choice from quality persective. The only "advantage" to Yakima is all the Yakima specific accessories you can add, off-road light mount points for example. That doesn't mean generic accessory mounts won't work with either, but it is a benefit.

 

Thanks for the info. guys. I'm thinking the Rola too. $129 is hard to beat and like DZonline mentioned I love the low profile of the Rola in comparison to the Yakima.

 

Did the roof rack hurt gas milage much?

 

yeah....it costs you about 2-3 mpg
