Hood decal| I have a 2017 Cherokee trail hawk. Any advice what to do with the hood decal? It’s looking pretty bad. I asked a detail shop what I could do about it. If there is someway to clean it up and bring it back to life. They did not have a solution. I’m sure I’m not the only one that I’ve had this problem with the decal, any suggestions.

I had mine removed before I got paint film installed. I have not reinstalled the decal. You could just get it peeled off.

Try using a concentrated mixture of Dawn dish soap, and a touch of non abrasive cleanser like Soft Scrub if you need a little more than just soap. That should clean it right up, then a good coat of wax will keep the water spots at bay in the future...😎

Soft scrub is really abrasive on paint, so I wouldn't do it.

If the decal is actually faded, any treatment will just be a bandaid. It's possible there is some minor oxidation of the plastic and that can be reversed. I would try something like Griot's Garage perfecting cream with a DA polisher. It is very mild, I've used it on soft plastic trim to remove swirls without issues. Use the DA lightly at a slow speed. Then follow it up with a decent ceramic spray. Many over the counter ceramic sprays are pretty good.

Find a reputable vinyl/wrap shop. They will be able to make you a new one, probably with better quality vinyl than the original...😉😎
