Hey all I'm just wondering what you guys think about the cabin noise in the Cherokee. I have a 2016 limited 2 wheel drive with about 22k and I think it's pretty quiet. I came from a 2008 Escape which was pretty noisy. I ubered in a 2016 Nissan rogue the other night and it was crazy loud in that thing. Anyways I downloaded a sound meter and driving 72 mph on a 4 mile stretch of I10 I averaged 67 decibels. I was hoping you all would load a similar app and share your findings!

Could not believe how quiet the Cherokee is. Makes the 9-speaker plus amp worth the cost. Came from a 2005 Honda CR-V that was so noisy I could only listen to news radio. My pickup has aggressive M&S tires so that's no recording studio either. In this video (
) they show some of the efforts FCA went to with sound deadening and isoaltion materials.

Be careful when using any app to measure cabin noise, not all apps are created equal /https://blogs.cdc.gov/niosh-science-blog/2014/04/09/sound-apps/, and supposedly Android based apps are not as good as iOS apps. The one from Smart Tools is my favorite and I've tested it next to my professional sound level meter, it's usually within several decibels.

That same govt lab that evaluated the apps in the blog above, created an iOS app, supposed to work as well as a type 1 SLM. https://twitter.com/NIOSHNoise/status/822174014063972357

Its no car but as far as any of the previous 3 jeeps I have had its Quiet. I think the All season tires on this Limited have a little to do with it. The other 3 Jeeps all had AT type tires, which got a little noisier as time went on it seemed.

I agree on the quiet part. I'm crazy about the whole thing, but the quiet is one of the most amazing. For the suv style it's quieter than most sedans. Sort of erie quiet. I've also noticed that if I roll the front window down in nice weather that there is almost no wind noise like most vehicles have.

To me, the KL is very quiet. I thought I heard a rattle once, until I noticed it was just the sunglasses up in the sunglass holder...no cause for alarm.

/\ Same here.

Quietly gloating to self about the silence after 2 years of ownership and then it happened: rattle, rattle, rattle. Rats! Opened and closed the driver's door and no doubt the rattle was in the door. Then noticed the water bottle I left in the bottle holder in the door panel.
