Anyone ever tried setting their alarm off?

I tried setting off my alarm by doing some weird sneaky things today but it didn't work.

First i shut the jeep off and used the fob to arm and lock it while i was still inside the jeep. Then i open the door from the inside using the handle "it didn't set the alarm off wtf, that would set the alarm off in my dads 08 pathfinder and my moms 2010 Camry.

Next i again armed and locked the jeep while still inside, then i used the lock/unlock buttons on the driver side door to unlock the jeep and the alarm still didnt go off. Again that would of set the alarms off on my parents vehicles.

So in what ways other than only physical damage i suppose, to the vehicle does the alarm go off?

Okay so i dont have the keyless entry method so i have the key fob that you push into the ignition.

So i tried your guys suggestions by locking the vehicle with the remote and moving the remote like 100 ft from the jeep but it still unlocked whether it was when i used the handle to open it or the controls on the driver side door.

They all do. Just have to know how to set it off lol. A lot of times it just requires rolling down the windows. Taking the keys out of the jeep and locking the door from outside. Then open it from the inside either pressing the unlock button on the inside door by the window controls or simply grabbing the handle and opening it up. This method should work whether you have a key or a fob.

They all have a panic alarm, but I don't believe they all have a car alarm.
What the heck is the difference? Im annoyed that this could be true like wtf, how hard is it to implement a decent alarm system.
