All, I backed this as soon as I bought my KL. It is now in production!
Note this will only work on head units that already have Android Auto, it changes wired Android Auto to Wireless.
Phone can go back in my pocket again, or if needed on my Qi charger...
Emil is well known over on xda-developers.com, 4 years ago, he ported Torque to Android Auto.

Now that is interesting. I've been using obd2aa for a few months already, so I know theirs stuff works. Sure would be convenient, and alow me to charge with a faster charger.

That would be nice, for sure. Let us know how it works when you actually get it.

I regret the one and only Indiegogo tech product I backed. :(

Google opened it up to Android 10 last year in a patch. Not sure on Pie from the phone update (Google Pixel and S20 here, so haven't seen Pie in years), but you could do this way (the S8 is in the list):

LOL, trying to get an unsupported tablet from Froyo to KitKat or Lollipop, been there... (y)

Update, they are now in production and ramping up volume.
I should be receiving mine in the next production/shipping batch.
They are now accepting for June delivery.
Price is starting to creep up due to the global chip shortage.
Also upward pressure on shipping costs.
Already seeing confirmation that it works on the 2019+ (2018+ Grand Cherokee) uConnect 4 Jeep radios:

Nice! I saw the price in crease the other day. Still debating whether I want to grab it at the current price, or wait for more reviews and possible risk a further increase. As it is, I'm getting real tired of AA messing up if I merely bump my USB cable.
Exactly, for some reason modern cables (especially the USB type C) don't like the constant plugging/unplugging... :cautious:

Just got mine on order. I would like the ability to charge faster when needed.

#14 ·
I use an iOttie Qi fast charge mount in my Jeep (plugged into 12v), my S20 prefers the Qi fast charging even when plugged in for AA...

Not yet, but I didn't order until March 26th. I bought into the June delivery package. My ID is in the 28000's, They are working on up to 11100's currently. I'm currently using OBD2AA, so hopefully I can use both, but if not, thats fine. I can always plug in when I want to run OBD2AA.

I should be on next week's shipment, so close...
Like everyone else, the ramp up in production is being affected by the chip shortage.

Mine has shipped! Given the chip shortage, pretty remarkable. Will update when received...

I've still got a few months on mine. Hope it works well for you. I'm also curious if I'll be able to use obd2aa with it at the same time.

For the Cherokee, you need an Android Auto capable Head unit already (avail 2019+), it doesn't add it to the vehicle.
If you put a 2019+ unit in your '18 then it should work.

Yes. Its for 2019 and up. Also looks like I have till August. They sent out an update email today and I'm in the "June" batch.

I still think that's great for a crowdfunding campaign, my sister had to wait over 3 years on one...

#27 ·
LOL, I meant to post your question there... You might get a more robust answer to your question.

#28 ·
Ah. Good idea. I'll probably just wait and test it out when I get it.

They are on newer models, unfortunately, I believe it's a hardware limitation.

#32 ·
Definitely hardware. The head unit would need to have something similar to what Emil is doing with his adaptor...

#31 ·
Yep, just nice to see that the car manufacturers are stepping up to the plate to enable the wireless function.

I'm thinking about putting in an order for one, but I'd really like to get feedback from @AtlCade69 after he gets his! ;)

As I posted on the AAWireless site:
Received mine today. Jeep Cherokee uConnect 4C.
Setup (at lunch) was painless, just followed the app. Works flawlessly!
AA self launched within seconds (2 or 3) after starting the Jeep at the end of the day.
So much better than a 2 year old Kenwood Excelon with built in wireless Android Auto!
Well worth the (short) wait. @Emil – your team and your AAWireless ROCK!

#34 ·
Awesome. I'm in gen 2 batch, so they are hoping by August for mine.

Just an update, after the Cherokee system goes into its deep sleep (overnight) it only took ~ 5 secs to AA!

Does it work through an app, or do you just plug in and it works?

#37 ·
You do the initial setup/pairing (and any future firmware updates) via an app. After it is setup, it is just plug and play and you will only need to use the app for updates...
