Really stupid question I'm about to ask but whatever! Do you guys think our wiper blades are warrantied at all? Seems like from all the snow and ice we've been having, one blade has already crapped out on me. I know I can go replace them myself for cheap but I like the factory ones. My Cherokee has 2500 miles on it

Nope, no warranty for wiper blades:) Nice try though!

Ehh I'll go try and complain anyway lol. Whether it was 2500 or 100 miles, in my eyes that's simply a defective item

I never change the factory whippers... Only get the blades... Getting them from the dealer,,, up to now.. It has always been cheaper...

I'm pretty sure ANY item considered a wear and tear item is not covered.

I agree with that but say I just get the car and I have the problem right away? Your telling me they wouldn't take care of that?

Possibly - but you're saying that the ICE and SNOW tore one up. It didn't just crap out on its own - that's why wear and tear items typically aren't covered. They might be happy to throw you a new set on though. Wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

Per the warranty booklet that came with the vehicle, wipers are warrantied for 1 year or 20,000km's (Canadian obviously), as are all light bulbs.

I was quite surprised to see this....worth a look in the US model booklet to see if it's there as well....

Most normal wear items are covered 12 months or 12k miles.

If both wipers are doing that (smearing), maybe you got something oily on your windshield from a vehicle in front of you? Did you try cleaning your windshield with something like Windex? And also cleaning the blades off. Might be worth a try before you go to the trouble of replacing the blades.

The manual also states not to use them on ice (common sense). This isn't a warranty issue, its user error and kinda shady trying to get the replaced for free.

No I am just an idiot haha. They were fine. It was just a piece of ice that was screwing it up

LOLz ;) good to hear man!!!

We had a massive ice storm through here last week, with both out truck and car covered in an inch of ice, alas we just let them run with the heater on high for 15 mins then scrape the ice off, saying that out RAM we use that day had ice stuck all over the wiper strut making the blade all wonky and it wouldn't wipe the passenger side properly!

Just got my printed owner's manual and warranty booklet in the mail a couple hours ago. Spotted the following (U.S. version):

But the following items are covered only for 12 months or for 12,000 miles on the odometer, whichever occurs first:
brakes (rotors, pads, linings, and drums):
wiper blades:
clutch discs or modular clutch assembly (as equipped):
windshield and rear window; and
wheel alignment and wheel balancing.
