Mine's ordered with one. Will let you know whenever (3 months?) I get it.
Anything specific you would like to know about the tech package?

Just looking to start a discussion.
I ordered without as I don't see the need for the functionality included.

You will be fine without it. Honestly, it is like a nagging mother-in-law in the backseat. My Trailhawk is constantly bitching at me to slow down, brake, get back in my lane, etc. No, I am not that bad of a driver :D
(it is just that some of the functionality keeps me from being a little bit aggressive, you know, like when some idiot pulls right in front of you, you can't give them a little bit of a scare anymore because the Jeep wants you to put on the brakes immediately - scaring the crap out of me in the process). You will also get he crap scared out of you when the Cherokee thinks you are wandering lanes and automatically gives your wheel a slight tug to pull you back. Oh, come to think of it, maybe I am a bad driver.

Does it actually turn your wheel a bit while moving?! Because that would scare the absolute dog crap out of me at speed. I can see it now....

Cruising along to do a late night last minute desert trip, begin to drift slightly *sudden wheel tug*, OH SWEET MERCIFUL JESUS *panic over-correct to rollover/unexpected off-roading*.

Could be a fun thing to have to mess with unaware drivers of your car! :D
When my sales guy was demonstrating the parallel parking for me the self braking thing came in handy!

He'd never done the parking before so he went around back and got a 19yo kid to sit in the back seat and tell him how to do it.

So we drive up to a couple of cars where there's and open spot, the kid tells the sales guy what to do, he changes the gears and as its backing in and self-turning the wheel we're cracking jokes, and he's doing jazz hands, and I'm seriously impressed, when suddenly WHAM the brakes slam themselves on. And the kid goes " geez, you still have to work the brakes you know". Lol.

I was going to get it. The adaptive cruise control is something I think I would like and the blind spot thing might be useful. But I read that they're just buggy enough that I'd get tired of them and leave them off. Some reviewers even said they were confusing with all the bells and whistles and braking and shaking. I'm low maintenance and all that sounds high maintenance to me.
Honestly, the blind spot thing is the most useful. I am in the habit of after looking over my shoulder, and now also checking that before I begin moving over. I am a bit paranoid of people in my blind spot.

Journeyman, oh yes, it will actually gently tug the wheel back into the lane, and yes, it scares the crap out of you. That is okay if you really are drifting, but I have had it do it one time when I don't really think I was drifting and I went, WTF! On the bright side, if you are one of those mentally challenged people that thinks turn signals are optional when changing lanes, you will find they aren't quite so optional in this vehicle. Having your turn signal on disables the lane drift - but leave it off, and the car will fight you!

At first I was a little bit startled with the steering wheel turning itself HOWEVER it is not as pronounced as you would think. Its there as a safety measure and not to be relied on, and it can be turned off. Just for fun the other day I actually tested it out and it drove itself around a long sweeping corner.......pretty neat. Personally if I was buying one I would probably get the package, after all it can be turned off if you don't like one part of it.

Good point. I was talking with a friend of mine this morning and we were discussing the brake assist and thought about an interesting scenario. What would happen if say a snow built up or a bag came and covered the sensor, would your car start freaking out and try and stop you thinking you were about to plow into something?

If the sensor gets obstructed by debris or dirt, it disables the system and displays a message to clean the sensor or clear the obstruction.

After driving with the various feature of the tech package over the past couple of days, I have to say that I kind of like them. There are situation where you want to disable some of them, such as when pulling into your garage with the collision avoidance system enabled, but for the most part I see them as a positive thing. I do like the blind spot awareness system, the adaptive cruise control and the security of the collision avoidance when driving in stop and go traffic or through congested streets. The sensors also help alot for parking in tight spots.
Never needed or wanted any of those driver assist systems. All the warning bells and ding dongs would drive me crazy. If I need driver's assist I have my wife:)

About the only part of the Technology Package I'd want is the Blind Spot and Cross Path Detection feature. The cross path would be handy when backing up in a crowded parking lot.

Yes I would just like cross path detection that I presently have on my current vehicle with the addition of blind spot detection.
The rest of Tech package I will never use.

Actually, I am finding everything useful except the self parking. When trying the perpendicular parking it is worse than my wife on finding a parking spot. Once it does then it does a good job. I was surprised how well the auto high beams work.

I forgot..the adaptive cruise control is neat too. It will be even better when I fully trust it so I don't have to hold my foot an inch above the brake pedal:blush:
used the adaptive cruise control in rush hour san antonio trafic i will never own a car without it again the car literally stopped and goed without me doing anything.
as far as the other features such as blind spot awareness it is also a great feature and give you extra reassurance when changing lanes
i have used the park assist once when it was a really tight space and it worked like a charm but it was a bit scary i mainly use the review cam/park it myself and find myself backing into more parking spaces than parking forward its like a video game lol lining up the lines and not hitting red
