Hi Everyone! Been reading posts on water leaking into the passenger rear and front floors in the Cherokee. I have a 2017 and noticed a few days ago the passenger side windshield was fogging. Yesterday, I decided to vacuum in and upon removing my all weather rubber mats (that were dry) I found both the back passenger and front passenger floors were soaked! I immediately called the dealership and was told it was cost $125 for their leak specialist to look at it and from there I would get an estimate on repair! When I purchased the vehicle I also purchased the MaxCare warranty package that apparently does not cover leaks. I was also told because I am over the 36,000 miles the factory warranty will not cover this. Has anyone else had this issue or has the dealership fixed the problem when they realized it was a seam on the firewall? Thanks! -Donna.

I had water leaking from the front roof seam- went through the carwash and next morning had black water stains down both front interior a-pillars. Fixed under warranty.

However, barring that, I'd check the sunroof drains- compressed air should blow them clear.

Had same issue on 2017 Cherokee, water on floor board under passenger seat. Same response from the dealer, called ‘Jeep Cares’ and they were USELESS. Found a Jeep service bulletin for 2016 model, explaining a factory defect that leaves gaps between the sealer and firewall that allows water to get in. i found the same gaps on my 2017. I followed the repair procedure (link below) and the water intrusion stopped, at least one week since I performed the repair, so far so Good.

Did I mention the Jeep Cares hotline was USELESS

There have been lots of reports of Cherokees getting water into the interior.
Search this Forum to find the one for you.\
"Recommended Reading" below may help.
Check with your Jeep dealer, there may be a TSB, but you have to ask.

I have a Jeep Cherokee and it had rain water leaking into the non-driver side rear passenger carpet only. The water was leaking in from the bottom right corner of the front windshield. The specific spot was in between the outside of the cowling box (the plastic box where all the rain water drains into for the front windshield) and the foam insulation that touches the outside of the cowling. It did not appear that the factory put enough sealant there at the bottom corner of the windshield. I believe water was going in there and going through the frame of the car and emerging underneath the front passenger seat area.
