Only for the Grand Cherokee. This is the page for the GC as far as the VIN itself goes: http://wk2jeeps.com/wk2_vin.htm The VIN decoder does not give you options added though as you can see - that is only via the build sheet.

What info are you specifically looking for? A build sheet for a specific VIN? I have that for my KL.

Build date is on the sticker on the drivers B pillar (from memory)
Compliance date is on the sticker on the passengers B pillar (from memory)
Options - on the build sheet.

I wandered out to the driveway and my memory failed me.

Build date sticker - is on the B pillar of the Passenger side.
Aust Compliance date sticker - sits below it also on the B pillar of the Passenger side.

Do you want a pic?

NA Mate that is cool

I appreciate the efforts.
I for another car plugged my vin into a website and it spat out everything about the car down to the logo shields embossed in the head rest.

Was hoping there would be one for jeeps

We used to have that. The link was here: http://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/BuildSheetServlet?vin= and you would load the VIN after the '=' sign.

It doesn't work anymore unfortunately. :(

You can still get a build sheet for your vehicle though through Jeep Garage but you must be a level 2 member or above. I got the build sheet through JG as part of the tracking of my KL from order taken to loaded on boat.

Found an awesome site that gives you the window sticker when you put in the VIN. Google "Jeep Window Sticker" and it should be at the top of the list. The page is ResearchManiacs.com

We're in Australia - the US stickers don't work down-under. We're a law unto ourselves. :D

HI Guys

do we have access to a vin decoder that tells us the options / type and year of car ????

Cheers
Here is what I was able to figure out for the VIN when I deconstructed in back in 2014 ...
(Not sure if anything has changed or if it is different for AUS vehicles.)

Char 1 (Country) - 1: United States
Char 2 (Make) - C: Chrysler
Char 3 (Vehicle Type) - 4: MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle)
Char 4 (Gross Vehicle Weight) - P: 5001-6000 lbs. GVWR
Char 5 (Brand / Line) - J: Jeep
Char 6 (Series) - M: Cherokee
Char 7 (Body Style) – A:Sport / B:Trailhawk / C:Latitude / D:Limited
Char 8 (Engine) – B: i4 / S: 3.2 v6
Char 9 (Check Digit)
Char 10 (Model Year) - E:2014 / F:2015 / G:2016 / H:2017
Char 11 (Assy. Plant) - W: Toledo, Ohio
12 thru 17 (Sequence Number)

So that actual VIN itself only has Model, Engine, and year that you'd be interested in. You would need an FCA database to get the detail that you're probably looking for which @IRSmart might be able to help you with. :)
