Just turned about 600 miles on my Cherokee. I'd like to report the following....
The shifting is smooth. First to second is not as smooth as the rest of the gears but it is only felt a little firmer than the other upshifts. Downshifting is very smooth. I don't hear any clunks from the driveshaft.
The 3.2L V6 is smooth and very peppy at take off. I think it might be as fast as the 5.3L V8 in my old Yukon that I traded in (I may be wrong).
The Cherokee sure does corner well for an SUV. Curved freeway ramps can be taken at a decent speed without much sway.
The steering remains nice and tight, seems responsive, and no vibration at idle in the steering wheel.
I don't hear any strange noises from the engine bay in park in my driveway.
There are no leaks in my garage. I park it on indoor/outdoor carpeting in my garage....perfectly clean.
Everything seems to work as intended and the fit and finish looks great.
I guess I just want to say that I think Chrysler did a great job on the new Cherokee. I know that some of you have problems. Hopefully Chrysler will get those problems solved for you and you will truly see what a great vehicle we have.....Don. :)

Dittos to everything you wrote, right down to the mileage ... well, except for the parking on carpet thing. I'm currently parking on icy driveway so will let you know in the spring if there are any leaks. But all looks good and am loving my jeep just like you are!!

Thanks for posting - always great to hear all the positives as well as the negatives when you are patiently waiting for yours to arrive. All this info helps to make all JCC members much better informed consumers when working with their dealers.

Went over 1300 miles yesterday and things are going good for my wife's Limited FWD tiger shark engine. I have been shifting manually into 8th when cruising at 65 to 70 and notice after a mile or 2 the RPM's drop so it is starting to shift into 8th. I will wait till 2000 miles then do the same for 9th if it doesn't do it on it's own. I did notice yesterday it had shifted to 8th a few times on it's own when we went for a 100 mile trip.

Just a quick happy update. So far about 790 miles and no problems at all. I'm lovin cruising around town in my ride and hope any of you that are having problems can get them resolved soon. When this vehicle is right it is AMAZING! :)

Yes, thanks for both. And from the others, too. As was said, it's nice to hear good reviews starting to overtake some of the original issue threads.

Lets hope that later deliveries are showing that some of the major issues that were sadly there for early adopters have lessened and the minor issues, more software related are falling by now also.

Nice write-up. Completely agree with your assessment. Just over 1,000 miles myself.

just traded in our 2014 Grand limited for the trail hawk. The Grand was a great car some problems but not much to tell about. However my wife had much trouble driving it many problems and was just not happy with it. The Hawk has been wonderful I did get one totally loaded with everything but have no buyer remorse in anyway This was the correct choice.

As for trade I am luck .I have a great dealer and was not hurt very much in trade
