Ventilated Seat Install

4239 Views 12 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  jcool001985
I have an 80th Anniversary Edition that came with heated seats and the 8.4" Infotainment Screen, but it did not come with the Ventilated Seats.

I have located the 4 OEM seat cushion blowers (55057474AB and 55057475AB), but my question is install.

Can I just plug these in and they will work? Do I have to have the computer program flashed?

Thanks,

Have to have the BCM/radio programmed so the function will show up in the options. Then there is the issue with is the correct wiring installed or was it left out, and does it have its own module like the heated seats that have its own box under the seat that controls it.
You also need the perforated leather upholstery/cushions (the ventilated option needs something to pull the air from/through).
Yes, it pulls the air from around you into the system.

I believe the heated seat modules (the ventilation plugs into the same module) are also different part numbers.

Ya, that's pretty important too...

One way or the other, eventually the end result is disgusting !
Oh, and we forgot the most important part, the ventilated pass. seat must be power and not have the storage below the cushion

My 2014 limited has ventilated seats and the passenger seat is fully manual. A powered passenger seat is not needed so long as the leather is perforated and the wiring is actually there for the ventilation fans. And of course the re program at the dealer to add the function to uconnect.

Ahhh, the power seat/ ventilated combo must have be just for the 2019+ refresh...
@jcool001985 Does your Limited passenger seat still have the seat base storage cubby or the fold flat?
And another thing people aren't mentioning, the ventilated/perforated leather seats are less comfortable than the non perforated leather seats. They are stiffer to allow for the air flow.
I haven't sat in the non vented seats, but the ones in my trailhawk elite are awesome.

@AtlCade69 My 2014 passenger seat doesn't have the cubby tray but yes since its fully manual it does fold flat which is super helpful for home depot runs.
