Guys im honestly a bit surprised at how delicate the vented leather is in my 2014 limited after 126k miles. It started with a tiny split between a few perforated holes and over the past couple months has just torn to what you see today. I tried to repair the small split back when I noticed it starting with JB Weld for leather. Which is a color match leather repair kit but it made no difference. Just started splitting in other areas. Super odd for sure. Will have to find either a good used replacement seat bottom cover since it seems the factory leather cover is discontinued according to a few Mopar parts sites. Or find a local auto upholstery shop to replace that seat bottom. Any thoughts let me know. Thanks Automotive tire Textile Sleeve Grey Automotive design

Try Leather Medic MD, 277 Derwood Circle, Rockville, MD 20850.

They do leather maintenance, repair and refurbish.
Maybe they can provide advice and maybe find a similar business near you.

My low tech approach is to put on full sheepskin seat covers. Really comfy.

You definitely need to use a little leather conditioner once in a while. I do mine a couple times a year at least...😎

Another option if you find the seat being irreparable and it really bothers you could be to swap it out with available from a wrecked Cherokee. You could check on for a seat. Note, the heated AND ventilated seats I think were fairly rare (more people have just the heated seats which were included in the cold weather package) so it might take time and calling around to find a heated and vented seat in good shape but it's an option...

Oh yeah I have since I have owned it. Every deep cleaning every few months use either meguires or mothers leather conditioner. I know the leather is supposed to be coated in some protection and wonder if that coating is just wearing off allowing the leather to be more soft and fragile. Now that its peeling back the way that it is its actually a super thin leather bonded to a black fabric underneath. So seems similar to the bonded leather you see so often peeling on cheaper leather couches and chairs in people's homes. Wish Jeep used a more hard wearing leather like you find on saddles and such but oh well what can ya do lol.

I am finding just that. A lot of regular heated non vented leather bottom cushions but not much for sale in the heated and vented flavor. I may end up calling a few local shops I have found that do custom katzkin leather seats and see the cost on just doing the front seats so they match. I have had katzkin on a past used vehicle and its a thicker hard wearing leather much better than most oem. Seems Jeep took the lowest bidder on their seats. Now that the leather is peeling back its pretty thin just bonded to a black fabric. Reminds me of the cheaper bonded leather couches and chairs that never last.
