Using Bluetooth or USB in reduces radio volume

190 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  AZJeeper
Whenever I hook my phone up via the USB port to listen to podcasts or Amazon music, the volume is cut in half via the radio. It’s tolerable at a stand still, but then when you’re on the highway with road noise, it’s hard to even hear and understand. I’ve asked the dealership and they say that the firmware is up-to-date on the radio. I’ve tried maxing out the volume on my iPhone. Happens thru direct connect through USB and Bluetooth connect. Duplicated on the second iPhone.

has anyone else had this problem?

Any difference if you activate/deactivate the Speed Compensated Volume? I don't have a uConnect anymore (I replaced mine) but I recall a setting which was supposed to compensate for road noise when not at standstill.

I do have this activated, makes no difference. I can hear regular radio fine anytime, use iPhone…not so much
Not sure about USB, but for Bluetooth, make sure your phone volume is turned all the way up after the radio connects. Sometimes if I accidentally hit the volume buttons on the side of my phone fiddling with it or connecting the charger, the volume played through the radio will go down.
Not sure if it's the same thing as how Android Auto works, but when I'm getting verbal directions while the radio is on, I can change the volume of the voice. When the voice is done, I can change the volume of the radio. In other words, the volume controls different things depending on what is "playing" at the time.
