SO I finally got my v6 limited back after 17 days at the dealer, having the whole transmission replaced, which was faulty. I know now it is basically like driving with 0 miles, so I am not sure about the whole break-in thing but I know the 600 miles I drove before really don't count.

I live on a big hill and going up my hill I don't feel any shifting and it feels like my car is having a hard time getting up the hill, dragging way more than my v6 Pathfinder used to, and that was a much heavier car. It also smells like burning a bit when I get out at the top of the hill. Is this going to get better?

I had a similar issue where it'd rev high while going up bigger inclines for the first 1k miles or so. It stopped now, and I chalked it up to the adaptive learning that The truck does.

If you read the TSBs posted in the TSB section, you'll notice they all say the transmission "learns" while steady state driving on level ground once up to temp. It should get better as it learns.

Also, the oil smell is likely related to the work that was done. The technician grabbing the exhaust with oily/greasy hands to move it out of the way to install the new trans could cause that, as could a little overspray from a rattle can of lube to make removing parts easier. It should dissappear in a while.

Any updates on whether your V6 Limited has gotten any smoother on uphills? I've had a trailhawk for a few months now, which I love, but have definitely noticed it doesn't seem to want to shift on uphills. This is particularly noticeable if I'm start the ascent from a stop. I had mentioned it to the shop, but haven't had a chance to bring it in yet.

might want to check the hill start assist. if it is checked on UConnect. Seems like I get some higher gearing when this is checked even on flat ground.

Drive mine in the mountains where I have a 30 km (18 mi) climb at 6 - 8 % grade. Never a problem, but I have had the stuck in Park problem. Getting the flash update this coming week.

When going uphill do you move to the ERS to see what gear it is in? I have been checking mine when going up hills and it seems to be down shifting fine and not any unusual strain on the engine or transmission.
