“Hi, were you able to solve the audio problem? I’m having the same issue. I bought a TOMYD series radio on eBay, ran the proxy alignment, and it worked but there’s no audio. My Jeep is a 2014 Trailhawk.”

Thank you for responding!
Yes, the radio is plug & play. After doing the proxy alignment, I left the radio connected for a couple of days. The reverse camera worked, the knob raised and lowered the volume (no audio), and the pink connector was the only one I didn’t connect.
It gives me the following codes:
Error code: B1400
Front Left Audio Speaker Output
Open circuit
Error present
Error code: B1404
Front Right Audio Speaker Output

Error code: B1408
Rear Left Audio Speaker Output

(the miles are no longer flashing)

Hi @Geraham ,

1. Is this radio in the photo your new one or your old one??

2. The pink Fakra connector is for Satellite radio/GPS antenna. That won't affect your volume but I'm curious when you wrote, "pink connector was the only one I didn’t connect". Do you have the pink connector in your Cherokee and you didn't connect it? If the photo above is your OLD radio, where was the pink connector connected to?

3. I'm still not sure what "TOMYD" means? ( "I bought a TOMYD series radio on eBay") Can you upload a photo of the radio you bought? (I'm assuming the one above, a Mopar VP2, was your original that you removed, correct?)
Hi Gary,
the photo I sent in the previous post is of the new radio (2019 Cherokee) VP2, with which I did the proxy alignment.

I’m sending you a picture of the current setup of my 2014 Cherokee; it’s a Harman VP4 radio.

No, the previous photo is of the radio I’m trying to install.

Hi @Geraham,

So you traded an 8.4 inch VP4 radio for a 5 inch VP2? And this was to get Carplay/Android Auto?

if so, there's other things that need to be done to upgrade to a Carplay radio. The USB Media hub also needs to be updated and I think the HVAC control module. There are a couple folks on this Forum who recently upgraded to a 2019+ CP/AA radio that may comment.

Just to confirm though, you traded from an 8.4 inch color screen to a 5 inch black and white, right???

The VP2 is 8.4”, and I believe I have everything necessary to do the upgrade, but I’ve had the parts stored for over 6 months.

Do you think it could be related to not installing the USB module? Could that be the reason I have no audio?

Hi @Geraham,

Question... are you saying you have all three pieces (radio, HVAC module and USB hub) and didn't install all of them? If so, I would complete the job first as the issue could be from just an incomplete setup. If all three pieces are installed and it still doesn't work, then I would suggest looking at other potential causes (for example, there's a setting in the Body Control Module that specifies the type of radio in the car. We use an app called 'AlfaOBD' to change it).

First however, get everything hooked up and see if the issue resolves itself.
Ok, this weekend I’m going to install all 3 modules and let it sit for a while.
Regarding AlfaOBD, I saw two options that could be relevant:

1. Radio Type
2. Acoustic Configuration
I will back up my Cherokee’s configuration before making any changes to the BCM.

In AlfaOBD - UCONNECT module EP, do you think it’s necessary to reset the ECU?
I appreciate your comments!
