I assume UConnect works fine with new Android smart phones, for both playing mp3 audio files & playlists (UConnect Media / ipod selection controls) via the USB port (or bluetooth), and for phone usage & accessing address books (UConnect Phone controls).

Has anyone had issues using their Android phones with UConnect?

My Galaxy S4 connected without any problems. Haven't tried streaming music yet but the address book loaded and I did make and received a number of calls already while driving.

I would think you should have no problems with new android phones. However all android phones are not created equal. Some new budget phones are made extremely cheap hard wear wise. Check and make sure your phone support bluetooth 4.0 profiles.

Using the Galaxy S3, phonebook updated, reads my texts, sends texts by voice, music streaming. I haven't found anything that doesn't work with the phone.

I'm on a Galaxy Note 3 and everything works just fine. Text, voice call, streaming music through google music, local music playback, Audio from video player... All good on Android.

Weird quirk with my LG G2 - Uconnect receives and reads texts fine, but it ALWAYS assigns the wrong contact into to the text. It's convinced that my wife is "work" (maybe it's on to something!).

The streaming and everything else works fine.

By any chance has your Note 3 stop receiving text messages? Mine stopped working... I'm hoping un-pairing and repairing will work.

Sorry for the late reply, but that's a negative on the stop receiving text messages. It works fine.

Same with mine. With BT connection, I can stream my music but the display just shows Samsung .. It cannot detect the song name or artists. Also, I cannot see any menues.

When connecting with USB it just dings.

Huh. I can see the song info, but no album art when using Bluetooth. That's using either Play Music or Poweramp for playback.

My S4 would work and then drop features, really only would drop text alert. I could still send messages though. Contacted support and they had me check on uconnectphone.com to see if my jeep software was up to date with my phone, which it wasn't. Jeep is currently working on an update to work with the latest Android update. At least for the S4

I have HTC OneX+ (Android 4.1.1) and it seems that all works well, but receiving text messages. It will sync when the bluetooth connects, but won't display messages received while driving. I can send messages though.

That's exactly what the S4 does. Everything works well but doesn't alert me of text messages, the newest Android version is 4.3 and the newest Jeep version will work 100% with 4.2.2. According to the lady at Uconnect Support

Running the latest and greatest android on my nexus 4, 100% functionality. Not being able to read texts while driving is a safety feature in uconnect. You can listen to them while driving though.

Cool to know the android phones work well with the texting feature. I find it super annoying that the symbols on the Uconnect represent some sort of iPhone device and the phone can't even do the voice messaging??
