Hello all, I know there are a few threads on here about this but I haven't seen any that are recent.
I recently just bought a 2017 Cherokee Trailhawk.
All I want to know is will I be able to upgrade the Uconnect system to be able to use Android Auto at any point or am I stuck with this stock system now?

We don't know. Yes you can upgrade current cherokees from the lower uconnects to a higher grade one but since android auto or apple play aren't out for the Cherokee yet we won't know if it'll be backwards compatible. However, the current theory is that they won't be cause they require a different kind of touch screen to what we have now.

I just upgraded my 2015 Limited from the RA4 head unit to the Uconnect 4 with car play.

Things to note:
1. You with need to also get the USB hub from 2019 model year, this is the only way car play will work.
2. You will need to get a PROXI alignment done, this is approx $150 from the dealership (I was able to do it myself with an OBDLink MX+ and AlfaOBD software.

I've had the new unit in for about two weeks now, everything seems to be going well this far.

If you have any questions just shoot me a message.

Wow dude good info! Does this also work with the voice recogition triggered by the steering wheel button? If so I might ask you for nuts and bolts details on this upgrade as I think my mom would really appreciate Apple Carplay in her 2014 KL Trailhawk.
