I've been very happy since I had an aftermarket radio (w/GPS & wireless Apple CarPlay) installed
I'm car shopping now & honestly thinking getting a base model KL with a radio like that & just replacing it w/ what I have now
I loved the OEM radio (w/NAV) but I don't want all the hassles again
How does the advanced climate settings work with a replacement, mines specifically through my radio?

with Kenwood, if I use the hard (physical) temperature buttons or the hard fan dial, the display changes from whatever it is currently showing, to the climate screen, where I see the normal controls
this radio came with some customizing options. for example, my "home" screen has a soft (on screen) climate button

if you don't need a built in GPS, radios are not too expensive

I went thru Crutchfield & hired an independent person to install it. but Crutchfield says they can recommend installers. btw they are really good on the phone, I suggest starting with a specialist on the phone

Im deff going to look into something like that, the climate features was what i was most worried about looseing and the service break settings in my radio, and my bbluetooth
good, it's absolutely worth the money. it's like getting a new car. & the wireless connects via bluetooth AND wifi. wireless carplay for me is so great. I can have the built in GPS directing me, WAZE map on the Kenwood screen, play a movie on Amazon, get audible turn by turn directions & highway hazard warnings like the popo & stopped vehicles.

it's nuts how many features & benefits are coming out of that dashboard

it retains the SD card so I can listen to that podcasts that I download

I wish the Garmin GPS in the Kenwood radio was able to record a route, then play it back to me or direct me on that same route the next time I want to go to that place. I think the OEM radio had that, as an offload breadcrumb feature. that was cool
