Correct, you'll need to pay. I will renew the services after the 1 year trial.I've been waiting for Pandora integration!
But being available through Uconnect Access, I wonder if that means I wouldn't be able to use it after the UC Access trial period unless I decide to pay the $20/month later on?
Try Slacker it's better than Pandora in my opinion. I haven't tried it with the uconnect yet since I just updated the app, I will try it later when I run to the dealer to pick up my plates.I'm not seeing any good reason to use Uconnect for Pandora.
I downloaded the app on my iPhone, connected it via Bluetooth and fired up Pandora. Nothing happened on Uconnect. My iPhone shows it's sending to Uconnect, but there's nothing happening on Uconnect. Pandora doesn't show in the apps section.
But if I connect my iPhone via USB cable I can operate Pandora just fine. It shows the song and art on the console and the steering wheel commands work, outside Uconnect.
I assume that when my phone answers via Bluetooth and I talk through the audio system, that's also happening in Bluetooth and not via Uconnect. What exactly is Uconnect doing other than letting me lock my Jeep with the iPhone?
$20 I think is over-priced but at $10 that would be worth it, the stolen vehicle assist lowered our insurance to offset the costs.Jeep needs to rethink their value proposition. As it stands right now, even $10 would be too much for the UConnect Access.
Yep. Seems it should be faster but it usually takes about 5 min for me too.Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I'm wondering if anyone is using UConnect Access to remote start their KL.
I set up the trial last night, went in the house, and tried to start my Cherokee. It started alright, after about 5-7 minutes. Same delay with flashing the horn/lights. Is this SOP for the app? If so, it's pretty poor engineering. . .
Yup, that's normal. It's kind of an insult that they expect people to pay $15 to $20 a month but can't figure out how to get it to work faster. My wife's Explorer has the same functionality, but only takes about 10 seconds for the car to respond. And they only charge $50 a year.I set up the trial last night, went in the house, and tried to start my Cherokee. It started alright, after about 5-7 minutes. The cell phone you mention could be an attack surface for hacking --> http://jeepcherokeeclub.com/7-car-lounge/76497-hacking-vehicle-computers-5.html#post1294482; University of Washington/UCSD paper.....
The reason why they charge is because there is actually a 3G Sprint cell phone built into your car. Because that cellphone actually has its own cell phone number (you will never find out what it is) and because it uses the cell service it costs money.
