2015 Cherokee KL sport 4wd
Turn signals stopped working but the hazard lights, which are the same lights are still working. Is there a fuse that might cause this problem or could it possibly be an issue in the steering column? Anyone else ever experience a similar issue?
Hi Michael,
Welcome to the Forum.
Are you familiar with "OBD2" and if so, do you have an adapter that goes in the OBD2 port of your Cherokee? If so;
1. Download the app "AlfaOBD" (available for Android on the Google Play Store or Windows 10/11 from the manufacture's website) and connect to your OBD2 adapter. You don't need to pay to use the diagnostic functions (free version)
2. In the app go to
Body Computer - Active Diagnostics and then choose; "Front Left Turn" and "Front Right Turn" and click "Start" for each. This tells the body control computer of your car to turn on the turn signals independent of using switches etc.
- If the blinkers work, the turn signal switch on the Steering Column Module (SCM) is likely bad and needs to be replaced.
- If the blinkers do not work, the issue is then likely within the body computer itself.
