The Jeep Cherokee KL transmission does not have a dipstick from the factory, as it's considered a sealed unit. FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) doesn't recommend owners tamper with it. There is no specified maintenance interval for the transmission fluid under normal use. However, heavy-duty use (towing, off-roading) might necessitate a fluid change performed by a dealer. Some export models (e.g., Australia) have a 100,000 km fluid change interval. While officially considered "lifetime" fluid, some owners recommend changing it around 100,000 miles or after 10 years, especially with towing.

And if you are an export user it seems there suddenly is maintenance interval for some bizarre reason! The Aussie manual states 100,000 km fluid changes.... but still no disptick..
