A Jeep factory rep confirmed that orders for the new Trailhawk will be processed at the end of September/beginning of October.

Delivery of Cherokee Trailhawk models will not be until December. :-/

Hate to call BS, but I'd like some more info on who it is exactly that you spoke to. We just hear so many things, it's always good to verify.

Maybe Milous can verify what you're saying.

Are you also saying that production on the Trailhawks hasn't started? We were under the impression that even though order banks weren't open, didn't mean that they weren't going to be produced yet.

I really want more info.

Hopefully they are not pulling a Toyota where they fill the lots with the lower end SR5 first (Sport, Latitude) and then start the higher end orders.

Me too. I'm following the thread over on the other site to see if he ever comes back with his source other than a dealer rep (who is probably the brother of a sister of a friend he knows.) He is a level 4 there but still...

I completely agree.

My biggest problem with so many of these claims is that even Jeep/Chrysler doesn't really know what's going on. Even if the Trailhawk was ready tomorrow, they wouldn't know. And just because they think it's delayed today, doesn't mean we won't get a report tomorrow saying it'll be out next week. The auto industry is just that way.

I don't doubt that the Trailhawks won't be here as soon as we want (say, yesterday). I do doubt that they'll be so significantly delayed. Just call it marketer/business man's intuition.

AND - I will eat my words if I'm wrong.

Chrysler did this with the Dart launch last year. The most desirable trim, Dart RT (now renamed Dart GT), was delayed for months while lower Darts arrived at dealers.

I don't know why Trailhawks would be significantly delayed. Obviously they have produced quite a few to date to test. I suspect the build ratio will be really low... sort of Rubicon to Sahara to Sport (s) and the base model on JKs. Sport (s) and Saharas dominate lots.

I'm thinking that they're having some real issues with quality/performance of the production models: Chrysler has postponed the Media Day citing issues with engine/transmission/ or both...

it's not looking really good right now. I agree that the 4wd models will be last, especially the Trailhawk model.
