Got my hitch installed on my 2016 TH. Pulled everything apart to start running the supplied wiring harness(82213938-AG) and found this in the driver's side rear wheel well.

Is this the "factory" wire harness? If it is and I don't need to run the supplied harness all the way through the cab does anyone have the correct part number for the harness I need?

I have a 2019+ and things are a little different for me, but it is in the general area. I will say that is definitely not going to give you a working trailer connection because there are not enough wires going into that connector. So yes you are going to need to run wiring all the way through your vehicle. The theory on this forum is that 2019+ Cherokees have part of the wiring already pre-installed (newer Cherokees have another confusing issue where there is more than one wiring harness you can buy to install) so it doesn't need to be run to the front of the vehicle but for older Cherokees that is not true. Here is a picture from my vehicle with the factory trailer wiring connector circled:

You know I didn't even notice the lack of wires going into that plug. Now it has me wondering what that plug is for? Maybe for the models that have the 12v plug in trunk too.
Thanks for the reply!!

I've only found one wire harness for 2019+ harness which is a different part number than 2018- models.

There is another harness also. See my other posts on this from around 2020. Just to be clear the one you reference will work. However if you want a working brake controller then that is where the complication comes in.
