Correct, I guess north and latitude have a geographical reference, but north being applicable to Canada, though they are the identical grade minus the market specific differences
In Canada, Jeep has long used the "North" edition nomenclature for the midrange versions of the Liberty, Patriot, and Compass, so certainly not surprising to see it on the Cherokee as well. They even used to use it on Grand Cherokee as well.
