Hi guys, I've have my TH for about a month now, loaded out with all options except the technology package. It has about 600 miles on it now and I've been noticing when I come to a stop in the car, while in gear at idle, I get a mild vibration from the steering wheel. When I pop it into neutral, the vibration goes away. I'm only using 93 octane gas in the TH, so I kinda ruled out poor gasoline. Is anyone else having this kind of issue or heard of why it might be happening? Any help would be great. Thanks!

Hrm... i'd pop into the shop and see if the dealer can find any issues with it, being a new car it shouldn't have a rough idle

sorry, no help on the issue...but you know 93 octane serves no purpose right?

It is a 3.2L TH. I noticed it shortly after I bought it, and thought it could have been bad gas that the dealer put in since they only ever fill cars up with 87, so I've been using 93 since then to make sure its not just bad gas, but its looking like its not. If it doesn't go away ill be contacting the dealership for sure. I'm not sure if its a 4x4 thing or not because my fiance has a 2wd 3.2L Latitude, as does my good friend and neither of them are having this issue.

Was waiting for someone to post about this. Wasn't sure if I was just crazy. I've had this issue since I've pretty much had it but figured maybe that's just the way it was and try ignoring it. I only experience it in drive at idle. If I pop into it neutral, it goes

Yep, I noticed this, too. It didn't do this when I first got it. When I first got it I couldn't even tell the engine was running when I was at a stoplight. But after a few days, I started noticing a mild vibration in the steering wheel when stopped in drive. As they say, maybe the honeymoon is almost over? I liked it better when it didn't vibrate!

I have 900 miles on mine and have used 89 octane fuel for the past two tankfulls. It's a v6 Trailhawk.

I've got this vibration also. It's a Limited v6 4x4 with less than 200 miles. There must be something not functioning properly. But I took it to the dealer yesterday and they said there is nothing wrong with it.
I figured that would be their response. I am going to mention it to the dealer but not expecting them to do anything. We shall seee

I'm not even sure what they could do about it. It would be hard to determine what the source of the vibration is. I find it odd that mine didn't vibrate when it was brand new, but does now, and that seems to be the case with many of them based on the comments on this forum.

As it appears that many did not have this issue initially but do now could it be related to colder weather? For me, I've had the vibration from day one but I've had the car for less than a week.

Also, the vibration doesn't seem quite as severe in sport mode as opposed to auto mode.

It's supposed to go into the sixties here this weekend, so I'll report back if my vibration subsides with the warmer weather. It's been cold here of late (in the twenties and thirties).

Same issue for me as well - posted about it couple of weeks ago. Seems noticeably stronger after the vehicle warms up.

To the members saying they are experiencing it also, are your cherokee 4x4s? I have a feeling it might be a 4x4s model issue since my finances and friends cherokees are fwd only and they're not experiencing it.

Yeah, mine is a Trailhawk, so definitely 4x4 here. I paid some attention to it last night and it seems the vibration only occurs once the transmission shifts down to first gear with the engine at idle speed.

I don't believe mine did this the first week or so that I owned it. It started after a few hundred miles.

I have a v6 Trailhawk built 10/13.

Temperature was in the sixties around here this weekend. I noticed no difference in the amount of vibration. In fact, now that I've paid some additional attention to it, I've noticed that it isn't just the steering wheel. I'm getting vibration coming throughout the center console, door armrests, etc.

I'm really not pleased with this. I accepted some vibration from my $25k Xterra, but I feel that a $40k Jeep should be a bit more refined and should not be vibratating.

I completely agree with you and experience the same thing. Sunday was about 70 and vibration significantly lessened. Today, back to 30 and same vibrations. I just don't see it being something that the dealer can resolve =/

Just noticed this today as well. It seems to go away after the truck warmed up a bit. I did notice what sounded like an exhaust leak when I first started the car this AM or something rattling around. I'm going to crawl under it maybe tomorrow and take a look. I only have 300 miles on the truck so things may still be settling in. I couldn't see anything and there were no obvious heat shields causing issues.
