Chrysler has done turbos in the past with very good success. I could see a turbo tiger shark. I dont know if there is enough room under the hood for a turbo 3.2 v-6.
a small V8 would be possible, something under 5.0 liters, if they can keep it in the 4.0 range with some type of forced induction that will be wicked.yea realistically a turbo v6.
can they even fit a v8? maybe.
I dont know if an 8 would work just becasue it needs to be mounted transversely becasue of Cherokees FWD bias... SC could work but it looks turbos are going to become the it thing.a small V8 would be possible, something under 5.0 liters, if they can keep it in the 4.0 range with some type of forced induction that will be wicked.
but a boosted V6 is more likely

The Chrysler 300 SRT, Dodge Challenger SRT, Dodge Charger SRT, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, and SRT Viper all disagree with youSRT's Typically come with the same number of cylinders, just usually turboed. Its a bit of a small V6 for it, but I'd love to see superchargers trickle down to some of the less expensive brands.
Yeah there was even the Neon SRT-4 back in the day that had a boosted 4-cylinder that scared the S*** out of any modified civic it passed by.The Chrysler 300 SRT, Dodge Challenger SRT, Dodge Charger SRT, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, and SRT Viper all disagree with you
There are rumors of Turbo 4's and 6's in development though.
Im not sure what you mean, all those carts are available with a V8 without being SRT. Except the Viper, its a V10, but there is no non SRT Viper. The Chrysler 300 SRT, Dodge Challenger SRT, Dodge Charger SRT, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, and SRT Viper all disagree with you

I got you now, I shouldn't have said usually turboed. In the smaller displacement engines they have done turbo's, I meant they usually don't up the cylinders from what the regular version have at least as an option. I doubt they would try to shoehorn a V8 into the Cherokee. Even the SRT6 Crossfire still had a V6 (which was Supercharged, but it was an re-used AMG setup.) I'd still love to see Chrysler throw a supercharger on more of their cars. The Chrysler 300 SRT, Dodge Challenger SRT, Dodge Charger SRT, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, and SRT Viper all disagree with you

I know would be sweet right... problem is the Cherokees chassis was borrowed from the dart, borrowed from FIAT. so its a FWD platform, it would cost way too much to re-engineer the chassis to RWD bias. And if they were going to do that Jeep would of done it for the whole Cherokee line not just a special edition SRT.Its possible. SRT model RWD only? SRT isn't meant for off-roading anyways
More for doing burnouts in a parking lot.
It will, probably more instant power in the low RPM range which with daily driver cars will mean a lot, since you'll have a fun car for local roads going the speed limitA turbocharged V6 will probably yield better mileage than a V8.
