I stoped by my dealerthis AM to get a brochure. I found out they have a Cherokee Limited on lot, so I decided to check it out with the kiddo. It seems smaller than I was expecting. The driver compartment is comfortable, but with the CommandView sunroof, quite a bit of headroom disappears (I'm only 5'10"). That wasn't what got me all twisted up though, it was the headroom for the back seats! Sitting in the seat (all the way back and reclined until it touches the tonneau cover) I had to lean my head towards the sunroof as the roofline sides were hitting my head. I think I actually have more headroom in my wife's 2014 Compass (which also has a sunroof) in both the front and rear seats.

Yes, The one I sat is had the sun roof and my head was very close to the roof in the rear. The sun roof cuts at least an inch out of the available headroom.

In one of the video's the guy doing the review highlighted the same thing, lack of headroom with a sunroof.
What was your impression of the cargo room behind the rear seats ?
Geoff
The cargo area is wide and deep, but not tall as the roofline sweeps downward towards the end of vehicle. (Cargo area is larger (L/W) than '04 Liberty and '14 Compass, but smaller than '04 Grand Cherokee)

so im confused guys maybee someone can explain this. the pano sun roof looks like it would add room not take away.
yes and no... the area under the pano roof is higher than where the headliner would be (if no sunroof) but, around the edge of the pano, the headliner has to drop down to accomodate for the sunroof mechanisms (when sunroof is open, it's undernear fixed rear portion of glass) and the sunshade curtain.

I'm slightly concerned about this. I drove one without a sunroof, but ordered one with it, thinking it'd be the same. I'm only 5 10, so it might not matter, but I hope I don't feel cramped. Can't keep the sunroof open all winter in Michigan.

Well certainly when I order it will be no sunroof for me, I have one in the Journey and find we rarely use it anyway.
Geoff
I rarely open the one on my Ridgeline, but I have the cloth cover open all the time. I just like having a glass ceiling since it makes the car feel big - and this Cherokee sunroof is like two or three times the size of the one in the Ridgeline.
