Hi,
Cherokee trailhawk 2015.
Just bought it a month ago and I need to replace all 4 shock absorbers.
The stock (mopar) are not cheap.. so I thought that in this situation maybe it is better to upgrade. I saw there is a dobinsons lift kit.
Does if worth it? Is it much better than the Mopar? Is it also better on the street (when driving to work, not off road).
Thanks

The Dobinson kit will give you a 1" lift, as the struts and shocks are longer than stock. There's also Bilsteins struts and shocks which are probably the overall best quality over the Dobs and the Mopar. They make two different sets, the B4's which are comparable to the stock ride, and performance level, and the B6's which are more heavy duty, and ideally for those of us who do a lot of offroading, and or towing...Welcome from Utah!!!😎

I would second the Bilstein as the shock/strut replacement of choice. They are a superior - to stock - replacement.

I found the B4 version to be plenty firm in my opinion, but then again, I have a lift and LT tires, so that would also contribute to the less than 'soft' ride. My only regret is I should have done it sooner.

Now it was two years ago, but it took me two months to find all four and they came from three different places. I had also contacted Bilstein directly. Best of luck.

Double-check the numbers, but I'm pretty sure I'm right.

My friend is highly considering the B4's on his incoming Trailhawk project. It seems B6's is a better choice for towing purposes. We'll start the mod project after we installed the rotors and moto metal wheels on the truck and clear the garage.

Sounds good! As you likely noticed, I have the B4's and am really impressed with them, while the ride seems as firm as I want it. I have experienced that on some city streets - up north, mainly - with potholes, the vehicle appears to bounce more than 'absorb', if that makes sense. The original shocks seemed a bit more forgiving and also felt somewhat softer.

I think that he will like those B4 Bilsteins.
