Just got the "Service Shifter" message on the 2017 Trailhawk I purchased two days ago. I watched the odometer hit 28,000 miles while driving to work 1.5 hours ago and right afterward the shifter message popped up. I parked at work and have not been back to the vehicle since, so we'll see if it's gone after my shift. I'm still under the 3 year bumper-to-bumper warranty until late November fortunately (though wouldn't this technically be considered power train?), so I'm hoping the dealer I bought it from can repair it quick and free, and permanently. We'll see. Was hoping the Jeep certified pre-owned warranty wouldn't have to be tapped into, but judging by the amount of results I got when looking into the problem I'm afraid my TH will be in the shop more often than not.
The worst part is, I bought a 2018 Latitude Plus BRAND NEW last year and loved it. Wife and I honeymooned to CO in it in June. It handled Pike's Peak, hundreds of miles of mountain roads, and everything between there and our home in WI without a single hiccup. Had 20,900 miles on it in August when a dump truck plowed into the line of cars we were in on the interstate. Total loss. After dealing with all the insurance and considering different vehicles, I went with another KL because I loved my 2018 so much. My wife's 2014 Patriot has 170,000 miles on it and zero issues.
I really hope Jeep makes this right.
