Eh, is what it is. It's gotta be done. Assuming the VA doesn't kill me I'll be fine.

Look what I got in the mail today. The sensor holes are much larger, the winch control box holes are now elongated in addition they added one off to the side so you can offset mount it to make it easier to get to the hood latch. Since I'm having heart surgery tomorrow and it's raining all week I won't likely get to it for a few weeks. But I'll update everyone when I do get the new one mounted.

Best of luck with the surgery. Rest and get better afterwards!

Yeah! It finally came! Best of luck on your surgery; great time to let the wife or significant other doddle over you. :)
We'll anxiously await a healthy recover and your return to the world of the KL...

Good luck with the install Len1304. And you will be in my thoughts and prayers for your surgery. From your post sounded like that might have been today. Hope all is well and you get back to your fine jeep real soon.

Hey everyone. Thank you for all the good thoughts. I'm alive and well. Sore but I'll manage. It actually didn't go as planned at all. They started by doing some testing so they could identify the bad areas of my heart and couldn't find any so they cancelled the second half. So other than having gotten cut by my groin I'm fine. I figure within a week I'll be back up to full strength and up and running. Still have a bad ticker but further testing will figure out exactly what is wrong. Until then I'm not slowing down and if I die I'm gonna die happy with a smile on my face.

I haven't been through the procedure but yeah, when they knick ya in the groin and run up to your heart that can't be fun. Cath lab people also have cold hands. Hopefully, they'll get some things worked out for ya. My old man had plenty of procedures (cath lab, heart surgery, pacemaker)..... not fun but lots of good technology to help you with.

Be safe Len!

Sadly I'm not an "old man" at 29. So I really hope they find something they can fix.

Alright. Assuming I'm not in too much pain I'm gonna attempt to put the new bumper on tomorrow morning before it gets too hot. I'm told it's just a few bolts and everything should like slide out and slide back in. I'm really hoping its that easy cause I don't think I can handle more than and hour or so working on this. But I will update everyone when/if I get it installed tomorrow morning.

Didn't work out. After running around for the day and having my travel trailer broke into I didn't have the energy to finish the day by installing the bumper

Bad news for everyone. The tech package compatible bumper gets delayed again. I attempted to install the brush guard today only to result in something that wouldn't let me close the hood. So they are making another new brush guard. The larger sensor holes weren't in the right spot and the winch control bracket holes were in the wrong spot completely preventing the hood from being closed at all. I will say it's fairly easy to take on and off with only maybe 20 minutes of work each way. In the end I put the old one back on since the old one let my hood close.

Old

New

Won't clear.

Holes not right.

Old bracket marks.

New bracket marks.

Gotta love R&D by trial and error! Bless you for working through this and hopefully in the end there will be a product they can reliably reproduce! I know it's on my wish list!

I've got nothing but time, nothing to lose and everything to gain. I didn't pay a dime so if it take 6 months to find the right setup well it takes 6 months. If I was at the shop in Utah the R&D time could be greatly reduced but we are dealing with 1200 miles of difference here, so we have to make do.
