So my friend is at the jeep dealer right now picking up his new GC lease. He was talking to the GM about me. I said "yeah ask him when the heck they start shipping". He just texted me saying the GM said the hold up is now problems with the radio screen going blank, and they need to updated?! I said I thought it was the transmission and he said I asked him that and he said "nope". Haven't found anything to back this up. Of course at this point, jeep probably wouldn't want that to get out anyway.

Dealerships typically know less than we do. I doubt he knows what he is talking about based on the "nope" to the transmission question. It's pretty tough to keep things THAT quiet these days.

it is possible that the GM was referring to the Grand Cherokee and not the Cherokee as the grands were (and still are) referred to as just Cherokee by sales and service people...

The only recent recall was on the Grand Cherokee and RAM for the instrument clusters turning on/off randomly. In the GC, it was found to be caused by the antilock brake controller, the RAM is caused by the cluster controller.

Agreed...I was thinking the same thing when he texted me. Im like this guy prob doesnt know what he is talking about. When I started emailing dealers about the cherokee a few months ago I was getting the "yeah come on in we have grand Cherokees in stock oh...the new thing coming out, I apologize, see this is why they should of a called it something else" ....I don't see what's so difficult there used to be a cherokee and a grand cherokee.

This is what I figured. There was always confusion between Cherokee and Grand Cherokee.

From the jeep garage forum, one of the dealers went for a road test event today, said he was told problem solved, so no Cherokees will leave factory unless 100% fixed, no dealer fixes. Delay now only seems to be backlog of vehicles to receive software upgrade.
Thanks for the update. That's good to hear. Too bad Nissan didn't do this with the Pathfinder, all I hear from new Pathfinder owners is how they have to keep on going back to the dealership

Cherokees on Dealer Lots by End of Month

I placed my order today (was waiting for premium cloth seat availability on Trailhawk) and was told that the regional Manager indicated Cherokees will be on the lots by the end of October.

Its good that is what they intend to do, I would hate having to bring it back to the dealer every so often to fix whatever glitches
