Hello everyone,

Here's my mini dilemma at the point of purchase of my Trailhawk v6 I was told by salesmen that I could have the remote start installed in my car and he wrote me a credit for 200 dollars for the installation and such. I called my local Jeep dealer and asked for pricing and what not... only to find out Remote start isn't available yet for my Jeep. Now i've read the credit for the remote install and it expires in 30 days. Im feeling kind of taken advantage of in a way but its also partly my fault for not checking into this before accepting the offer. Anyways my actual question is... are there any aftermarket remote starts that will work with the new 2014 jeep cherokee?

Thanks!

When I inquired with my dealership about adding remote start I was told they won't even try it with the new Cherokee per Jeep. I decided to wait a few days until a Trailhawk with a factory remote start happened to arrive. I would get my money back.

What radio do you have, assuming the 5.0?

I thought it was built into the 8.4AN already, guess not. I assume you already setup your Uconnect account to see if you can start it via web/app.

You can get factory remote start via 2 options.

Cold weather ($795) that also includes heated steering wheel, heated seats, power heated mirrors, and trailhawk offroad accessory kit and winshield wiper de-icer.
Or the Comfort and Convience Group ($1895) which has a host of other features as well.

I also would not add a aftermarket remote start system to the new cherokee's.

I looked on MOPAR accessories page and didn't see a factory remote start system listed for the cherokee either.

Its strange because I have a bunch of those option in my car but no remote start. I have the Heated steering wheel, heated seats and a bunch of the other Comfort / Convenience group options but not all. Anyways thanks for the tips.

vasH - and its a Trailhawk? Doesn't seem possible. Maybe if its another trim level, but if its a TH, you should have that option.

The app works by VIN # so it knows if the vehicle has remote start or not. For example, the Trailhawk I returned did not have remote start and the app showed no option for remote start. When I registered the 2nd TH that has the remote start the app showed the remote start option.

Just by having Uconnect does not give you remote start but after the 1 year trial is up you will need to subscribe to uconnect in order to continue using the remote start via your phone app.

I understand all that, not what i was saying. I meant that I thought the electronic start used with the 8.4AN was always there baked into the system (ie no add on eqpt necessary), but it is inaccessible unless you have the right package. Thus checking on the app to see if you had it.

Heated steering wheel, seats, and some other comfort / convenience features overlap with the Leather Interior Package that you may have - and the Leather Interior Package does not include remote start

We are in the same situation but are credit for the dealer does not expire. We spoke to two dealers and they expect the remote start to be available in FEB.
I was given no specific date or month from the two dealers I called. Although I did contact Uconnect and Chrysler themselves about it. Still waiting for a response. Ill keep yall posted.
