I bought a more expensive key because on the Polish Allegro (something like eBay) I had it on hand but it was more expensive. If you're not in a hurry, buy on alliexpres because it's the cheapest there (for me). You can look for eBay, Amazon. KEY must be ID4A.

I have alfaobd on windows (craced) key and it works. i have alfaobd apk android. I think you will do it via alfaobd as well. The procedure is trivially simple. You can read the pin and it has 5 digits. for me, apcar showed 0 ..... so even 6 digits with zero. I don't have a car now, it's in the service where I assume alternative LPG fuel. In Poland, it is cheaper fuel and I drive for 50% of the cost of petrol. Apcar is even simpler. You have options programming-keys. You have pin reading and programming. It's easy and legible. You can't spoil anything. All the tips are described in detail. If I order a 3rd key, I will try to make photo documentation. Believe me, it's very simple. The only minus of apccar is that the program has a license for one vin number. Only one auto can use apccar diagFCA.

 

OK. So is this correct...

a. The PIN is 5 numbers.
b. You were successful using ApCar.
c. You were not successful using AlfaOBD because you said in an earlier post (Post #22) that AlfaOBD will only accept a 4 number PIN.

Yes. but if I had another key I would try to encode alfaobd again. I think alfaobd will encode the key. 1 key I bought was wrong. He was to a dodge/chrysler where there is a 4 digit pin. That's why alfaobd wanted 4 digits. 1 key was PCF 7961a ID64 and that's the wrong key. Buy pcf7961m ID4A key!! He will be programming with alfaobd. I think so. If you fail with alfaobd you need to buy appcar diagFCA. After all, I believe that the ID4a key can be Cherokee, it has 5 digits and an alfaobd department. id46 is dog and chrysler key and it's 4 digits and here is the problem. Buy id4a and alfaobd you will get a new key.

 

Do you understand what I mean? I tried to encode the wrong key ID64 where there is a 4-digit transponder. That's why alfaobd indicated "enter 4 digits". I'm sure alfaobd will do the same. Key id4a-pin 5 digits-alpha obd. It will work. You will see.

 

I have another question. I think I helped a lot with the key coding. Does the cherokee have the remote window down feature? Has anyone activated it? Next case. Is it possible to update navigation and change languages to my radio? Version 11.18.07. I know it can be done for a fee. Does anyone know where to download the USB update files?

 

Today, I've used AlfaOBD to code a new 5 button fob that just arrived from the USA. To do this, the FCC number and chip ID must match the originals and a 5 digit PIN was read from the RFHub.

Keyless, lock, unlock and rear hatch open as per old 3 button keys. I'll see how to program the remote start next. Will update
