THE most important thing you can do to prevent PTU failure is to rotate the tires so they are ALL always nearly the same diameter (tread depth).
Also, keep the rear axle gear box filled up with the proper gear oil.
Get the battery load tested for State of Health every couple months. Charge the battery weekly with a good AGM battery charger and/or battery maintainer.
Doing the above will help you avoid most of the most frequent problems.
Appartently you bought the Jeep used. Get a free CarFax report and have the Jeep dealer print a VIP report and review it with you. You may be able to find helpfull maintenance information.
Make sure all Recalls and TSBs are done.
