Hi, I'm in Stratford and bought my TH from another dealership. I brought it to Scap to do the TSB when I found out they didn't do it, and they said no update was available. It was really frustrating. Is your service department up to speed on how to do the TSBs properly now? Is it worth bringing it in again? My TH is exhibiting behaviors that indicate that the TSBs were never performed...2014kl
We have been selling the new Cherokee like hot cakes and people normally get there TSB's when they come back for the first oil change or before it even leaves the parking lot. I know just last week the pulled in the 34 on the lot to do the updated flashes for the trans and the radio's. our service department really tries to stay ahead of it. The ones that are normally the complaints are before the January build date. I will say after everything gets done most people are happy with everything. My soon to be wife lives in Huntington right off 110.
Be nice.........Which put's you closer to Alaska than me. Thank goodness. Palin has a house in both places if I am correct.>![]()
When was your Cherokee built? If it was built after the December 16, 2013 cut off date the programming is already there so doing the flash won't change anything. Have you made sure your Cherokee is eligible for this flash?Hi, I'm in Stratford and bought my TH from another dealership. The build date was early November, right before the first TSB was released if I recall correctly. However, both Scap and the other dealership said that there were no updates available for my truck. When I log into the jeep.com owners site, it says that there aren't any updates available either.When was your Cherokee built? I talked to my service manger and one of the techs in our Jeep building. He says there should be some sort of update that they would need your information first. Please call in 203-384-0005 ext 3200 is Phil. He is the service manger. You may say my name which is Steve in parts told you to call in and check up on the problems you are facing. Tell me how you make out.The build date was early November, right before the first TSB was released if I recall correctly. Thanks, I really appreciate the help! I'm due for an oil change anyway, so maybe they can take another look at it when I bring it in.I talked to my service manger and one of the techs in our Jeep building. I see the problem right there. They think your Cherokee is a truck. If they don't know it isn't then I wouldn't trust them to know anything else. :nerd:The build date was early November, right before the first TSB was released if I recall correctly. Well, it doesn't seem right to call it a car, even though that's probably a closer description!I see the problem right there. They think your Cherokee is a truck. If they don't know it isn't then I wouldn't trust them to know anything else. :nerd:
j/k....now in all seriousness...
The trans TSB came out in December. Cherokees with a November 2013 build date are eligible for the TSB. The TSB # is 21-014-13. Unless it was already done your vehicle is eligible. Have the dealer look up the TSB #.
Also, make sure they do the Adaptive Learn Procedure as well. It is REQUIRED when doing the TSB above. If they just do the TCM flash above and give it back to you in 10-15 minutes they didn't do it right. It will take a good 45 minutes to do both TSB's and do them right as they have to go out and drive the vehicle for quite a bit to complete the ALP part. ALP TSB# is 21-013-13. If they do not do the ALP part it can make it shift worse and/or do serious damage to the trans.
Go to Jeep.com -> Maintain & Care -> Recalls/Alerts@Trailhawk,
You say when you log into jeep.com owners site, it shows no updates available.
I signed up for the owners site, and can got to jeep.com , click on OWNERS and log in. But then I do not know where to look for updates. I see a place to click on for recalls/alerts - is that what you are looking at ?
I don't believe that will show any TSB's. The trans flash is a TSB.Go to Jeep.com -> Maintain & Care -> Recalls/Alerts
