Just for grins, I tracked down a 2019 and 2020 KL Limited on the same dealer lot in Maryland. Both had the 3.2L engine, AD1, and customer preferred package 2TG and 26G. I ran the VINs to get the build sheets. The 2020 had the Luxury Group and GPS Nav package. Other than the expected differences with those packages and color, nothing popped out as different in the build sheets.

Based on a sample of 1, 2020 = 2019!

Since the Limited has all the bells and whistles, I wouldn't expect the 2020 Trailhawk (and Elite) to have anything special either. Feel free to prove me wrong!

Congrats!!!

There's no significant changes for 2019 vs 2020

Here's the official 2020 info:

https://media.fcanorthamerica.com/newsrelease.do?id=21088&mid=4
Great find. From that same article:

New for 2020:
  • Advanced Safety Group (Lane Departure Warning-Plus, Forward Collision Warning-Plus, rain-sensing wipers) available on Latitude, Latitude Plus, Limited and Overland models
  • Alexa Skill Technology available on Uconnect 4C/4C NAV with 8.4-inch display
  • Sangria and Spitfire Orange exterior paint colors
  • Latitude models receive standard 17-inch aluminum wheel
  • Available 19-inch wheel on Limited model
  • Ski Grey interior available on Latitude Plus model

So there you have it, the differences between the 2019 and 2020.

I've asked for clarity as to what the differences are for the Safety Group, as it doesn't sound like it's any different from what I have in my 2019, just renaming the Lane Departure and Forward Collision systems

I love it, they rename it thereby making it a "new for 2019" feature. :D :rolleyes:

The Jeep.com site still has "Build your own" still up for 2019. Here's what I found...

Advanced Safety Group or its features are not available for 2019 Latitude or Latitude Plus. That looks to be "new". Limited and Overland get the features in the Technology Group. That just appears to be a fine-tune of available packages.

BTW - the "Plus" seems to be the new (old) moniker for the Lane Departure Warning & Forward Collision Warning. Goes back as far as 2014:

https://www.autotrader.com/car-news/chrysler-offers-active-safety-features-for-2014-214506

It was introduced in the 2019 KL models. The "Plus" gives more fine-tuning of the LaneSense and FCW functions.

As far as the other features...

Alexa Skill Technology is getting Amazon involved with Uconnect. Today Uconnect! Tomorrow the world! Oh, wait. Already there.

I don't know how you can overlook the new, improved, completely different colors and wheels. The colors have been available on other models. I'm pretty sure Spitfire Orange will make the KL go much, MUCH the same speed. The aluminum wheels were already standard on the Latitude Plus, now that includes the plain ol' Latitude too. And the 19" wheels were already on the Overland, so it's just "new" for the Limited.

So, really, nothing "new" except for Amazon getting into every aspect of life. ...but that's not really new either.

Extending this option to the lower trim levels was expected, since manufacturers are increasingly judged by the level of their safety tech. I predict that on the next-gen Cherokee (2022?), these features will become standard on all trim levels, not just "available." Otherwise, Jeep will fall far behind much of its competition.

Alexa Skill Technology available on Uconnect 4C/4C NAV with 8.4-inch display
I don't use an Amazon Echo, so this is mostly irrelevant to me. However, I wonder if this tech add-on would enhance the ability of Android Auto to interface with Amazon Music. Right now, access to that app is pathetically bad.

Sangria and Spitfire Orange exterior paint colors
Let me guess: Spitfire Orange limited to the Trailhawk, and Sangria broadly available? How different is it from Velvet Red?

Latitude models receive standard 17-inch aluminum wheel
Makes sense, since the optional Latitude appearance package (mainly the wheels) is virtually standard anyway. Every 2019 Latitude on the lot seems to include it. You'd probably have to special-order a Latitude if you wanted the basic steel wheels. But this means that the "plus" factor of the Latitude Plus is smaller than before.

Available 19-inch wheel on Limited model
Good idea. Are they the same wheel design that's on the 2019 Overland and High Altitude (painted gray in the latter case)? I'm not too fond of that one, but in any case it would be nice for the Limited to get something unique.

Ski Grey interior available on Latitude Plus model
Also a good idea. Many people like black interiors, but no one should be forced to accept one. It's amazing how cool the Ski Grey stays in the summer compared to the black.

As anticipated, very little here is truly new.

Great, expanded detail. Well done! :D

Well, I can't find any mention of the 2020 Overland on the Jeep website. Am I missing it? Thanks.
