It's range of capabilities from on-road comfort, safety, economics and performance coupled with enough off-road prowess to go anywhere that I'd try to take it, make this a well-balanced vehicle. The size, features, and price point make it pretty ideal for me.

Now that I have one, my favorite characteristic is definitely the remarkable comfort. Love the way it drives.... But ****, the Jeep is so comfortable it's my favorite place to sit.

I took my first test drive on a cold, rainy morning: heated steering wheel.

When I get drove a '14 Rogue, which I was also considering, on a similar morning, and the sales guy said it did NOT have that feature, it was like a stake through Dracula's heart!

For me, its the flat colour of Anvil on the tough looking TH, mixed with tech, advanced safety and comfort, all wrapped up in a sexy package!

I selected "4x4 capabilities" because I'm looking forward to the ability to to be able to take my Jeep on more rugged dirt roads and trails, however it was the entire package that sold me. The exterior looks probably was the 2nd factor after the trail capabilities, but also the combination of features including heated steering wheel, heated seats, adaptive cruise control, smart key, lane departure warning, and the other technology brought it all together. Relatively high fuel economy is also nice.

The power and handling are only so-so in my book because I am used to some higher performing vehicles, but for the price and utility the Trail Hawk seems to fit the bill perfectly. It will let me get around town and the mountains in decent comfort and with high capability without giving me a heart attack every time it gets scratched or dinged. I'm pretty excited about it.

It was this series of photographs that really 1st grabbed my attention:

The Whole Package

Hard to describe one feature since when all put together the Jeep works pretty well as a total driving experience.

With the Tech package it is remarkable to cruise on the SoCal freeway system in "automatic" and feel reasonably safe that the car will safely help you in virtually any driving situation.

Similarly when you get off the highway/road system and encounter rough terrain, it will also feel reasonably safe in getting you to where you want to go.

Tie those 2 together with comfort, reasonable MPG, and looks, you have a winner.

My wife was interested in the MPG. After the test drive she became interested in the comfort, quality of interior, only thing she didn't like was the color choices. She really liked the Geico on the wrangler but MPG took her away from them. So after the Cherokee test drive she said we could go until she decided what color she wanted within 3 miles of leaving dealer she said we could go order. She ordered the Billet Silver and is very happy with the Iceland/grey leather seats.
Last fill up was 266.6 miles 9.798 gallons = (hand calculated at) 27.2 MPG and that was in below freezing temps. total miles now at 854. FWD 2.4 Limited

The Exterior Looks attracted me.
The availability of the Tech Group as a stand alone option at this price level on a Jeep vehicle closed the deal.
The MPG est. was also of strong interest, coming off a V8.
I have owned Jeeps previously so capacities of it were not an issue.
Just love this vehicle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Initially, the exterior actually put me off. But after doing some research and seeing the Cherokee top out for utility (namely the 4x4 options with AD 1-3) and the stunning interior, I decided to check it out in person.

I was sold after the first test drive of the v6. Great drive and a great cabin to be in (I do fairly regular 600 mi+ driving).

Our family cars when I was growing up were a 1960, 1963, 1967 and finally a 1970 VW Beetle. We lived in the desert 7 miles west of Blythe,Ca. My mom grew up in Manhattan. It was "Green Acres" ten times worse for her. My first car was a 1969 Opel Kadett. I remember her and I drove to the "city" of Palm Springs and stopped at the Opel dealer to get something done to the car. While waiting, we looked inside a new Opel Manta in the showroom. We thought it was it was so luxurious with the corduroy like seats. If only she were alive to see the interior of my Cherokee Limited.

Total Package

Saw the Cherokee on the website and zipped right by it. Saw one at the dealership and said "Now what is this?"

What sold me:
4X4 capabilities (trail driver and not a romper here)
Wonderful dash, options and Uconnect
Exterior styling (believe it or not)
Interior quality and comfort
Drives like a car

Basically I now have a car, SUV and a 4X4 all in the same vehicle (at least that is how I justified it).

Personally I was initially drawn to it because they called it a Cherokee. I traded my 2000 Cherokee in on the new one. When they stopped production of the old Cherokee I was quite bitter and always hated the Liberty even though the last makeover was pretty decent. So had they called this new Jeep a Liberty I couldn't have pulled the trigger ... stupid but just wouldn't have done it. So again great they called it Cherokee.

As for a feature there are many. Have my iPhone paired up and got my first phone call yesterday while driving. (this is all new to me, as our Wrangler and old Cherokee didn't have this feature). So when it rang I had a moment of confusion on what to do! Then pressed "Answer" button and answered the call. Very cool!

I had three requirements when we were looking for a new car:

1) Must be towable all wheels down behind a RV
2) Must be off-road capable.
3) Weight must be reasonable (less than a Jeep GC)

The Cherokee TH fit the bill perfectly:)

So far, the TH has lived up and in fact exceeded all of my expectations.

For me, it was a similar situation, but with a RAV4 limited. The RAV is less money fully loaded with everything and quite a decent vehicle. When I asked the sales person about heated steering wheel, she said they'd throw in remote start for free to get me to buy!

Burning an extra gallon of fuel to warm my hands didn't exactly make sense to me

It just seems that Jeep did well on just about everything, ride, power, comfort, storage, looks, etc. And it definitely is not a soccer mom vehicle like some of the rest in the segment.

It has it all. Being a geek at heart, the technological capabilities that it has really won me over. Having the option of using "wifi" on a road trip for the wife n kids-heck yeah. Will I pay for it monthly-heck no. But just because we can-great.
The other no-brainier for me was I'm now paying about $125 LESS a month, which means I will be paying it off early too.
The only CON-since the vehicle runs completely on a electronic system-any electronic problems may render the vehicle useless until its fixed. I didn't buy an extended warranty, but I plan on returning to where I purchased the vehicle to get another warranty prior to it expiring at dealer cost. Pay $1500 then vs $4000 thru some other third party!
