Anyone try Elephant Hill? It's rated higher, but looks fairly easy on YouTube videos. Watched a Land Cruiser and a VW Tiguan drive it. If a Tiguan can do it, a TH can do it better. I just don't understand the higher rating.

I've done Elephant Hill. It was challenging but doable in the TH. Take it slow, use a spotter if you can, and its not too bad. The undercarriage needs the skid plates as I hit hard a couple of times. Also, I have rock rails. They were put to use on Elephant Hill. On the back side coming back up on your way out, take it slow. You can do it slow and easy; avoid the urge to apply too much power as its rocky and will throw you around and possibly pop your sidewalls if you take it too fast. Its a fun trail. One of my all time favorites.

@Deputymax Nice job! H's Revenge is awesome! You all probably have heard this a million times, but on the underside of the underside of the passenger seat storage bin is a map of H's Revenge. At what spot did you turn around? Did you do the spur out to the Colorado River overlook?

I'm in and have some pretty good flexibility this summer..... I typically stay in Green River with my RV but am open to almost anything.

I'll be off most of the summer as well. We're looking to camp up there in our RV and spend a good amount of time exploring. Although the wife would feel better if we did it with other TH owners. After doing two Jeep Jamborees it gets a little tired when you pull up in your TH and you get the usual strange looks from some of the Wrangler owners.

A word of caution I didn't mention earlier. If you don't have the transmission cooler, I don't know if I would attempt it in the heat of a Moab summer. It was a fairly cool day when I went and even with the transmission cooler, my temps were getting up to around 190 in 4 low and climbing the rock. Towing my trailer down there it never went over 170. So the rock crawling is tough on the transmission. I'm not sure what the upper limit on temps is, but I'd hate to see someone over heat or damage the transmission on the trail. Maybe I'm off base and it's nothing to worry about.

Trans oil temp of 190 is not overly hot. I don't worry until 230ish. We did all of our trans oil testing at 270 deg F.

Just to chime in for the members who have attempted Poison Spider and said is in a no go in the TH, we completed the trail yesterday without skipping obstacles. Some are scary looking and difficult to boot, but a good spotter and the 4 low engaged will get you up everything out there. Don't give up on trails listed 7 and below (if you have rock rails).

Ditto. Even though this is an old thread, people still reference it. The Snowhawk has made it up, over, through several trails rated 6 and 7. Trail ratings change over the years with use and wear. For example: Top of the World used to be rated 3-4 but is now a 6-8 due to Razer wear and tear. I've done it three times and the last one felt like a 7 (2018). Plenty of photos posted in other threads. Here's a few BOHs earned. There are tons of trails other than Jeeps BOH, you just need to get outdoors and explore.
