You can't add a full size spare unless you get the tow package. Also why would they list a compact spare tire as standard for one model and as an available option on the other 2 models? This isn't the first car I'm buying so I know the ropes... Would like to know where on the website you see it listed as standard

Respectfully, macfan, you have presented yourself as the foremost authority on all things jeep because you live near their HQ. I'm down the street from the King Center, but that doesn't make me the authority on MLK. My build sheets, the one from the dealer and the one from JG you get after your vehicle is built does not mention a spare of any kind, full size or compact. I questioned it at the time of my order because I have never purchased a car without one before.

At the same time, the build sheets don't mention all the nuts and bolts either, so I could be wrong, **** I hope I am wrong, but at least I'm willing to admit that.

The crow is on the table. I will happily pick up a fork and knife, strap on a bib and dig in if I am in error. I hope you can do the same.

Sorry, if I come on too strong for some of you. But it irritates me when sales people do not know their product. I am not asking anybody to eat crow but do want you to do your research and stop relying on what your dealer tells you. They are the last people to know anything. Even Auburn Hills will tell you that. Again, sorry you don't like my Auburn Hills reference but I am trying to tell you most people in mid and southeast Michigan eat, sleep, and breath cars. Our whole economy is built/based on that. I don't know anybody in my area that is not connected with the auto industry in some way.

I did my research as my picture showed I wasn't just relying on the dealer...
This discussion is stupid. At this point I am not really going to worry anymore about trying to explain things to you. I am sorry your Jeep is not coming with a standard compact spare tire but mine is. You know where to find me to confirm that I am correct. I am not surprised your sales person is uninformed. I had to school my salesman on the differences between the two Uconnect systems and the Chrysler dealer zone rep about the VOTS system sending out emails. I will keep what I know to myself from now on. Silly me I thought this was a place to exchange information.

You know what is stupid is that both of us have proven that Jeep has put out conflicting information and you are still acting condescending... I am sorry you know everything we will just agree to disagree and hopefully we are all taken care of- now can we get back to the fact that we all can't wait to have our Cherokee's in hand!

I emailed my dealer, so I'll let you all know what he says. My Jeep is already ordered and I did not add or subtract or even say one word about a spare tire, so this should be a pretty good test of whether or not you automatically get one. :)

I guess the important thing is to know you have a wheel at every corner :)

I alled and asked another dealership just to check- their response was Chrysler Group is putting out most 2014's with no spare including most Cherokee's... I said well there is conflicting information on the Jeep website and they had no answer.

Since you won't take my word would you accept information from Cherokee Steve one of this sites moderators?

Look at the second from the bottom line on his grid. I will admit the compact spare is not standard on FWD models but I don't think any Jeep enthusiast on this site would order a FWD model. The only time you do not get a compact spare as standard equipment on a 4WD model is if you order the trailer towing package. In that case you get a full size spare. Yes, Chrysler is cutting corners/expenses by eliminating the spare tire in FWD models. Please forgive me for being on my soap box but I am irritated by sales people and dealerships who do not know the product they are selling.

Ok and I am getting a FWD model- so my salesman was correct. I am a Jeep enthusiast but don't need an AWD - I want the better MPG so I am going with FWD. And I can't have a car because I am handicap I need the height of an SUV and I want the Cherokee plain and simple... (not that I need to explain myself but before the criticism begins I figured I may as well...)

This is what the Jeep Canadian website is showing

2x4 = None
4x4 = Compact
4x4 Trailhawk = Full-size

Makes sense then. Mine is a FWD as well. I can't call myself a jeep enthusiast either, being this is my first American car. Because of this whole production snafu, it will probably be my last. I picked the Cherokee for size, features and pricing, not because I planned to go mud-dogging or rock-slinging. I'll stick with it because I think it will be a great vehicle, but there is definitely a bad taste in my mouth.
