Hi Everyone - currently driving a 2002 (purchased new fall of 2001) Jeep Liberty that I originally purchased to tow my 33/3400 pound boat and travel back bush roads on fishing trips. This vehicle has been one of the best I have ever owned but now has over 235000 km and is starting to show her age with required repairs and some minor rust. I have been patiently waiting to see the new Cherokee and prefer the look of the Trailhawk, but am a bit nervous about small reduction in towing capacity, interior cargo capacity, and durability of new 9 speed transmission. I will give the Cherokee a serious test drive as soon as my local dealer can obtain one, and hopefully answer all my concerns.

Welcome aboard and congrats on the new TH. Thanks for posting shifting problems and let us know how you make out in correcting it. I think this is one of the biggest benefits of this board - we all learn from each others problems.

Greetings, everyone, from Nebraska! Glad I found this forum as its answered quite a few of my questions about the Cherokee and helped convince me to get one. Trading in an '04 Liberty that I has been just fantastic. Hate to see her go but I needed something with better safety features and mileage.
Welcome aboard - lots of good info here. I totally understand the feeling you have for your 04 Liberty. I've just ordered a new TH to replace my 02 Liberty which has been one of the most capable and reliable vehicles I have ever owned.

Here's hoping the new Cherokee can live up to, and exceed this legacy.

Hi all I am new to this forum. I am looking at purchasing a TH in Mango Tango. I live in Rural Ontario. I am having issues finding any dealer with a TH 4 cyl in their inventory to test drive. I am a current Honda owner (work for HCM). I want to move up to the Jeep cause I'm sick of getting stuck and digging out my '12 Accord from the snow drifts in the middle of the road just trying to get to work in the early am. Heading to the Toronto Auto Show to hopefully see a TH and get a good feel for it. Fingers crossed hopefully its there!!! Any helpful info would be appreciated.
TY guys
Hi cpark77 - where in rural Ontario are you located? I can't comment on the 4 cyl performance, but I can assure my TH is a beast in the snow. Our fishing club held our annual Kids Free Ice Fishing Day yesterday on a local lake with 3 feet of ice and lots of surface snow. My Th had a ball playing in it and never missed a beat without even using 4 low.

Buy one & your work commute problems should be solved.
