I find this a bit hard to believe with the over 17,000 Cherokees, Chrysler had in storage, but my salesman told me that when he went for training on the new Cherokee earlier this week, there was only one Latitude and one TrailHawk there. When Chrysler was asked why they said everyone of those 17,000 was spoken for. All 17,000 were either a dealer order or customer order and the vehicle is in short supply. So far no extra speculation units have been built. I am just down the road from Chrysler Headquarters and the large storage yard at Flat Rock which had over 3,000 Cherokees in it. That made that comment even more interesting. I have read reports that some dealers realizing the Cherokee is in short supply have begun charging $200 over sticker and are saying that could go as high as $1,000 over sticker by the end of the year. My salesman claims he personally has a waiting list of 6 customers wanting one of his dealer ordered Cherokees when they come in. I have a Cherokee Limited ordered that is in D1 build status with an expected dealer delivery date of 11/4. We will see how that pans out.The Cherokee was supposed to be available for test driving at the show. It wasn't even there on the showroom floor.![]()
Wow, I didn't know the demand was so high. Glad I was able to put my name on one of the dealer orders - hadn't been built, though - in advance.I find this a bit hard to believe with the over 17,000 Cherokees, Chrysler had in storage, but my salesman told me that when he went for training on the new Cherokee earlier this week, there was only one Latitude and one TrailHawk there. Overall i think they lacked with promoting it, they could have done a much better job. Some car makers go crazy with advertising. Chevy is great with this, when the Cruze and Spark were being marketed, it was advertised everywhere you can imagine. The Sac Auto show offered me a refund. I'm really surprised Jeep missed an opportunity to showcase the Jeep to such a large market. 15m+
The marketing/advertising is done. They are holding it back until the Cherokee's ship to dealers. At that time you will see Cherokee ads EVERYWHERE.Overall i think they lacked with promoting it, they could have done a much better job. Some car makers go crazy with advertising. True. The 40 page brochure for the Cherokee just came out. Up until that there was just a small pamphlet. I don't think Chrysler really wanted to answer any questions about the Cherokee until it was completely fixed. If you stop and think about it all of the information we have on the delays came from third parties. Chrysler was quite about the whole thing. I don't remember seeing any official Chrysler press releases. The marketing/advertising is done. They are holding it back until the Cherokee's ship to dealers. It is basically the same one except the hardcopy has a few more pages in it due to the way it is laid out and assembled. The quality of the hardcopy is almost unbelievable. It could almost be considered a coffee table book. They cost any dealer who buys them to pass out a small fortune. I am hearing some dealers refused to buy them they are so expensive and those that did buy them are being very careful who they give them to.Is the brochure the same one that is available as a PDF? The reason I wonder is the PDF is only 31 pages.
I can agree with that if it wasn't for this foum keeping me upt ot date with all the things I would have no freaking clue.Overall i think they lacked with promoting it, they could have done a much better job. LOL, you are upset because Chrysler is not promoting a vehicle that isn't out yet or officially released yet? Some of you need to go back and read the story of what happened to the Tucker. Chrysler has reason to be cautious.I can agree with that if it wasn't for this foum keeping me upt ot date with all the things I would have no freaking clue.
