The rules say chains or 4 x 4 with snow tires, not sure mine really qualify anymore lol.

I don't think I could get away with the things now, I think they really didn't know how to deal with those mini chains back in the day...
It's full coverage chains now, right?

I'd say no!!! As soon as the chain check guy up on Donner see those tires, they'll probably turn you around, chains or not...LOL!!!😎

Plus now you're 4X4 snow/all weather(not all season) tires must have the 3peak snow flake emblem on them to go over Donner and the other passes in CA & NV.

I've never had them look that closely at the tires ever. 4x4 and good tread, and you're good to go. Just don't crash, or cause an accident, and it won't come back to haunt you...😎

Last winter no one really checked me, they saw I had a Jeep and just waived me through, not sure if they will toughen up this winter or not, but I will have new tires by then anyway.
