I'm in Grand Junction, Co heading for Moab in the morning for 3 days of playing around. I am thinking about taking 128 from I70 to 191, is this a decent way to go? Do a lot of places in town have maps you can buy. Been through Moab 4 or 5 times but not for off road.

Tks in advance for any help.

Absolutely! Hwy 128 is beautiful. As is most areas out there.

I was thinking of the many times I have been through Moab and never brought a 4wd. I have owned probably 25 4wd's but all but 3 have were full size trucks so we always brought a better riding vehicle. We have rented jeeps in Colorado but never Utah. Looking forward to playing with the KL, not to much though, I kinda burnt my wife out on the heavy stuff around Ouray, Co.

I took this route the last time I was down there. Very beautiful. You soon pick up views of the Colorado River as the route parallels it south into Moab.

Some very doable off road routes along 128, including Onion Creek.

Just north of Moab is a nice hiking trail to Morning Glory Arch. We rappelled off of this arch on a canyoneering adventure a couple of years ago. You can also hike a trail from 128 to the bottom of the arch.

Tks taatmk, it all sounds pretty good and I think I'll try Onion Creek. We love to walk but at our age and being flatlanders we probably won't do much hiking.

Did Fins & Things today, awesome slick rock climbing. I loved going in the pond before we even got started.
That pond is not usually there. Its from a lot of recent rain. May was a very unusually wet month...

No damage, did have some red dirt on the front facia though and it did bring out an OH S+++T. I was really surprised I didn't touch down on the rocker panels, I don't have sliders. I thoght the TH did great.
