From stock OEM 270hp & 295tq, to 315hp & 330tq, a 45hp increase & 35tq increase is possible using these methods. Due to constraints of time and funding this was the best I could produce. To my knowledge this is the most powerful and quickest 2.0 4x4 (not FWD) KL Jeep out there. The idea was to keep OEM turbo & engine. I’m sure at some point someone will discover a more advanced system to supersede this research. Note: Piggyback tuners do not work on these jeeps! Even though temporary power gains were occasionally recorded, they were never stable or consistent, they will cause many dangerous drivability problems and potential damage after short use, do not recommend!!(JB4/Race Chip). This research was to create something more reliable, and legal for most roadways. The power increase was intended for off-road, towing, and track purposes, while maintaining daily driver practicality. I do not recommend or guarantee any of the below to anyone. The order in which you modify will affect overall results as shown below. Attempting any of the below listed modifications could definitely cause issues as do any modifications. Enjoy 😉

Original 1/4 mile was 15.21 seconds @91mph
1/8 mile was 9.87 seconds @73mph
0-60 was 7.0-7.25 seconds

Final 1/4 mile 14.47 seconds @95mph
1/8 mile 9.27-9.33 seconds @76mph
0-60 was 5.95-6.11 seconds

Stock Numbers not on Graph
  • Max Power = 218.22/270 at Engine RPM = 5.20
  • Max Torque = 260.31/295 at Engine RPM = 2.72

1st mods K&N air filter, TCU flash & Mishimoto Charge pipe

  • Max Power = 223.36/276 at Engine RPM = 5.15
  • Max Torque = 275.65/312 at Engine RPM = 3.07

2nd mods 3” Magnaflow Cat back exhaust, NGK spark plugs resonator delete, pipe bend removal. Lost torque gained some power. Unless
tuning keep stock pipe diameter.
  • Max Power = 228.43/282 at Engine RPM = 5.01
  • Max Torque = 265.75/300 at Engine RPM = 2.72

3rd mods Vivid Racing flash tune, fuel used 91 instead of 87, Power and torque increased.
  • Max Power = 231.14/286 at Engine RPM = 5.09
  • Max Torque = 287.82/325 at Engine RPM = 3.12

Note: Pure stock models increase hp & tq more, recommend Keeping stock exhaust if only using vivid tune, and if using this stage 1, recommend axle back exhaust, high flow air filter, & higher octane for best results. Still a great product.

4th mod HP tuners patch & 94 octane mix, power & torque increased.

Note: HP tuners provided a patch to local tuner to increase torque in TCU, very limited functionality is available unfortunately. Without TCU unlock torque will be limited to a max of 325tq at flywheel. Jeep turbo stock was measured at 22psi, due to limitations of Honeywell turbo, a max of 26.3psi was achieved. Fuel line pressure still had room, if requesting more boost recommend upgrading turbo. If looking for higher Boost recommend strengthening internals.
  • Max Power = 240.01/297 at Engine RPM = 5.12
  • Max Torque = 297.45/336 at Engine RPM = 2.98
5th final mod AFE&USP custom downpipe, lost torque but peak torque mid range extended & increased. Hp increase.

  • Max Power = 252.26/315 at Engine RPM = 5.41
  • Max Torque = 292.33/330 at Engine RPM = 3.56

  • +15hp
  • -6tq
Note: AFE made the only catless DP available, recommend using SKU: 3671 MFG: USP-B8-CAT for Audi 2.0T from To create custom highflow downpipe. It increases power and torque, yet peak tq did decrease due to complete high flow exhaust system. If performing this Upgrade recommend using post stock exhaust system, Custom tuner, and experienced exhaust shop for custom

Do you have dyno data that shows the 315hp & 330tq ? I don't see anything much past the stock 295 tq.
That’s translated power as you would see at flywheel, engine, or marketed dealership sticker power.
Dead stock dyno on power, on this dyno was 218hp/260tq, or 270hp/295tq, on the dyno the torque was 292, when you translate dyno power to advertised power you have to convert.

Awesome let me know if you need help, I picked up a lot of info from Tyler and many others putting this together. Biggest gains were from tunes, downpipe and better fuel. My MpG went up alot on the freeway and down in the city cause I can’t keep my foot out of it 😂.

Well my factory powertrain warranty ends in 10 days so I can finally start looking into some tuning.
I’d start with this from HP tuners see if you can get a read, then send the file to HP. I only got as far as unlocking some torque and top speed but it was borrowed from tuner. Funds dried up at that point, if you can get fully unlocked Tyler knows how to get the downshifts corrected, advancing torque for each gear and all that so when you press the gas it’s like a go pedal on steroids. I didn’t get that far. Top speed is mean though, I out ran a veloster turbo, Mercedes Glc 300, Ford focus st, Mustang 2018 ecoboost 2.3, 2022 Camaro V6, Corolla XRS, 2020 civic si, Audi Q5 and a 2004 Mustang Gt along with many v8/v6 trucks. It’s was hilarious.
I’ll pay you cash if you can get us 2.0 fully supported by HP tuners. @Tyler-98-W68

Also for note top speed cannot be unlocked from PCM is TCM, 115mph to max my v rated tires at 155Mph, I’m stuck at 148 currently.

Not sure I would trust going 148mph in a cherokee lol. Also both my winter and summer tires are only T rated so max speed is 118mph. I have gone 135 in a previous car but it was a sports car and felt pretty solid at that kind of speed. And I went around 125 in an Audi Q2 last year in Germany on the Autobahn. That was pretty scary in that suv, it did not feel safe.
Nope never doing again unless I’m south of the border and some random cartel what’s to do a check point vehicle inspection, which happens. I have firehawk firestone 225/60R18, V rated for 149mph. It’s didn’t seem to wonky, with out a TCU access hp the top speed is 115 like on the compass and new grand Cherokees. Great all weather tires though. Even snow and slush.
