I'm looking for a versatile roof rack system that will allow me haul things like skis, kayaks, golf clubs and maybe even the odd sheet of plywood. I had a look at some of the forums and saw lots of good recommendations on cross bars, but I am looking for something more like a platform that can take different accessories, clamp directly to the stock roof rails and stay relatively low profile since I have less than a foot of clearance (I believe) in my underground parking garage.
I have looked at the below model from front runner and it is very close, but also pretty expensive and I don't see an option for an enclosed compartment.
